Boys Basketball

Crete-Monee Shootout

Rich Central 71, Thornwood 47: Will Berry netted 15 points to lead Rich Central (4-6). Jalen Miller added 14 points and five steals for the Olympians, while Jamaal Murray had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Donte Thomas led Thornwood (5-4) with 16 points.

Bradley 66, Tinley Park 57: Vince Gooden made seven three-pointers and totaled 29 points to lead Tinley Park (4-6).

IPSAC/Midwest Showcase

Arsenal Tech (Ind.) 73, No. 7 Hillcrest 71: Jovan Mooring scored a team-high 25 points for Hillcrest (7-3) in Indianapolis. Taylor Adway added 14 points for the Hawks and Delmon Brame had 12.

Rich East 52, Dyer Heritage Christian 48: Nick Horne chalked up 11 points and 12 rebounds to pace Rich East (4-2).

Addison Trail Tournament

St. Laurence 65, St. Francis de Sales 49: Jim Schick poured in 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to power St. Laurence (3-9). Mike Kornacker tacked on 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Vikings.

DeKalb Tournament

Sterling 68, Thornridge 63: Tevin Newman (17 points) and Victor Trout (15) were the primary scorers for Thornridge (1-10).

Marist Invitational

No. 8 Marist 60, Phillips 36: L.J. McIntosh finished with 22 points in propeling Marist (8-2) to the championship. Lexus Williams added 12 points, five assists and five steals in helping the RedHawks complete a 4-0 tournament run.

Ford Power House 74, Southland Prep 48: Joshua Buford netted 17 points for Southland Prep (1-7).

Tarkanian Classic

No. 1 Morgan Park 79, Our Savior (N.Y.) 63: Morgan Park (9-1) won the Platinum Division third-place game in Las Vegas.

Girls Basketball

No. 1 Marian Catholic 61, Bishop McNamara 34: Ashton Millender scored 14 points and Teniya Page added 13 to spark visiting Marian Catholic (11-0, 4-0) in the East Suburban Catholic. Megan Walsh (10 points) and Kauai Bradley (11 rebounds) also contributed for the Spartans.

Oswego East Tournament

Metea Valley 48, Lemont 38: Courtney Toth’s 16 points were the most for Lemont (7-5) in the opening round. Nicole Krol and Kim Jerantowski tacked on 10 points apiece for the Indians.

Wrestling

Dvorak Invitational: Nick Lukanich (106 pounds), Mark Duda (113), Peter Andreotti (160), Alex Benoit (170) and Jack Howell (220) made it to the semifinals for Marist (114.50 points), which finished the opening day in third place out of 33 teams at Harlem. Sixth-place Lockport (84.50) advanced Brian Rossi (113) and Austin Strzelczyk (132), while eight-place St. Rita (80) produced a pair of semifinalists in Jake Silzer (106) and Jack Sears (182). Remaining advancers were Mount Carmel’s Bryce Brill (145) and Notay Jackson (152), Providence’s Ronald Triche (113) and Lincoln-Way Central’s Tyler Schneider (152).

Lincoln-Way West triangular: Kyle Ruettiger (113) won twice by pin in guiding Lincoln-Way West over Oak Forest 40-21 and Thornwood 67-6. Noah Keefe (120), Kyle Rodriguez (132), Lavonte Blackful (145) and Alec Posewick (195) were among the other double winners for the Warriors.

Men’s Basketball

St. Xavier Tournament

St. Xavier 61, Marian (Ind.) 57: Tournament MVP Brad Karp had 26 points and 14 rebounds to lead St. Xavier (11-3) in the championship. All-Tournament selections Roosevelt Green (9 assists) and Jack Krieger (7 rebounds) added 10 points apiece for the Cougars.
