Beach Ball Classic
Scott County (Ky.) 71, No. 5 St. Rita 60: Charles Matthews had 15 points and six assists for St. Rita (8-3) in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
No. 8 Marist 49, McCluer North (Mo.) 46: L.J. McIntosh had a game-best 31 points for Marist (10-2) in the quarterfinal.
Belleville West 74, Richards 62: Josh Meier scored 19 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to pace Richards (5-5) in quarterfinal play.
St. Laurence 77, Eisenhower 75: Jim Schick exploded for 50 points and 11 rebounds in leading St. Laurence (4-10) in the consolation quarterfinal. Schick also set a tournament record by making 22 consecutive free throws, finishing the night 22-of-23 from the line. B.J. Bronaugh paced Eisenhower (2-7) with 17 points.
Hinsdale South Tournament
Providence 57, Schaumburg 53 (OT): Miles Boykin rang up 19 points and Tom O’Halloran scored 15 to guide Providence (9-5) in the championship bracket. Also, Sandburg (1-11) defeated Hinsdale South 46-32.
Andrew 83, Evangel Christian (Ky.) 38: Jubril Adekoya had 21 points and six rebounds in just one half to lead Andrew (5-5) in the large school consolation semifinal. Aaron Williams added a career-high 12 points for the Thunderbolts.
Bremen 65, Carver 59: Marcus Geralds recorded 25 points and 13 rebounds for Bremen (6-5) in the large school consolation bracket. Otis Lane added 19 points for the Braves.
Bishop McNamara 81, Illiana Christian 71: Brandon Martin, of Illiana Christian (10-7), led all players with 25 points and eight assists in the small school semifinal. The Vikings also received 19 points from Elijah Lares and 11 from Marcus Ottenhoff.
Pekin 43, Mount Carmel 35: Bill Barry netted eight points for Mount Carmel (6-6) in the semifinal.
Mount Carmel 45, Morton (Ill.) 32: Christian Searles notched 18 points to power Mount Carmel in the quarterfinal.
Waukegan 46, Lockport 40: John Campbell racked up 20 points and David Robinson added 12 for Lockport (4-9) in the consolation bracket.
Proviso West Tournament
No. 1 Morgan Park 65, Bogan 34: Billy Garrett netted 21 points and Kyle Davis scored 16 to pace Morgan Park (12-1) in the quarterfinal.
No. 7 Hillcrest 61, Hinsdale Central 58: Jovan Mooring’s three-pointer at the buzzer was the difference for Hillcrest (9-4) in the Bracket B consolation quarterfinal. Mooring finished with a game-best 28 points, while Kyle Oden added 12 for the Hawks, who overcame an 18-point third-quarter deficit.
Urban Prep West 59, T.F. South 55 (OT): Jamahre Baker provided 12 points, six rebounds and six steals for T.F. South (5-8). Jalen Austin added 11 points for the Rebels.
Chicago Christian 67, Fenger 60: Corey Bulthuis chalked up 22 points to lift Chicago Christian (5-7) in the small school consolation championship.
Argo 58, Reavis 52: Ryan Krob scored 18 points and his brother, Dustin, tacked on 15 to lead Argo (5-7) in the large school third-place game. Eddie Puha had 20 points for Reavis (8-5) and Nick Bal scored 16.
State Farm Classic
Huntley 39, Thornwood 32: Donte Thomas had eight points for Thornwood (7-6) in the large school consolation championship in Normal.
T.F. North 47, Mahomet-Seymour 45: Deland Deere finished with 10 points to lead T.F. North (11-3) in the consolation third-place game.
Thornwood 47, Mahomet-Seymour 38: Donte Thomas netted 13 points for Thornwood in the consolation semifinal.
Huntley 58, T.F. North 44: Quawone Harris had 16 points in pacing T.F. North in the consolation semifinal.
Ag. Science Tournament
Ellison 49, Bremen 47 (OT): Maggie Hayes tossed in 22 points for Bremen (5-8).
Ag. Science 45, Evergreen Park 28: Colleen Kull scored 14 points to put Ag. Science (14-1) in the championship.
No. 5 Mother McAuley 88, Hononegah 64: Elizabeth Nye had 16 points and Lauren Carlson added 14 for Mother McAuley (11-3) in the championship bracket.
Chicago Christian 51, Illiana Christian 29: Anna Persenaire and Kiersten Merrick racked up 10 points apiece for Chicago Christian (5-11). In the other contest, Mount Assisi (3-12) lost to Reed-Custer 43-29.
Naples (Fla.) Shootout
McDonogh (Md.) 51, No. 2 Marist 48: Marist (10-3) fell in the consolation bracket.
Oswego East Tournament
Aurora Central Catholic 39, Lemont 33: Courtney Toth had 11 points for Lemont (8-6).
Riverside-Brookfield 44, Argo 36: Katie Krzos (9 points) and Nariman Jaber (8) were the top scorers for Argo (5-6). In the other game, Reavis edged Lane Tech 28-27.
State Farm Classic
No. 3 Morgan Park 48, Morton (Ill.) 44: Bhrea Griffin had 21 points for Morgan Park (10-2) in the large school fifth-place game in Normal.
No. 3 Morgan Park 60, Normal U-High 54: Tyana Porter scored 12 points and Khalilah Morrow netted 11 to propel Morgan Park in the championship bracket.
T.F. South Tournament
No. 10 Crete-Monee 59, Thornwood 45: Crete-Monee (15-1) won its pool in qualifying for the title round. Thornwood dropped to 5-5.
Bradley 47, T.F. South 38: Propelled by Jasmine Elliot’s 13 points, Bradley (7-6) booked its ticket to the championship round vs. Crete-Monee. Kaniesha McIntosh scored nine and Ninah Bertrand added eight for T.F. South (4-9).
Shepard 57, Joliet West 55: Myrissha Mitchell poured in a game-high 15 points and Mary Grace Valenta added 13 for Shepard (7-10).
Plainfield Central Invitational: Brian Hodolitz (1,386 series) was the top individual in guiding Lockport (6,279) to the team title at Pioneer Lanes in Plainfield. Shane Matejack (1,343) added a third-place finish for the Porters.
Palatine Invitational: Kyle Langenderfer won the crown at 152 pounds in helping Lincoln-Way East (110.50 points) finish eighth in the 27-team field. Nicky Allegretti (heavyweight) added a second-place showing for the Griffins. Lemont’s Chris Giatras (182) and Oak Forest’s Alec Brown (220) also captured titles.
Blackhawks Charities Holiday Tournament
Providence 2, Christian Brothers (Mo.) 0: Justin Salazar made 20 saves to lead Providence in the quarterfinal at The Edge in Bensenville. Jake Dillman and Rich Yusa had goals for the Celtics.
Westmont (Calif.) Tournament
Westminster (Utah) 73, St. Xavier 70: Brad Karp netted a game-high 24 points for St. Xavier (11-4) in the opening round.
St. Xavier Tournament
St. Xavier 77, Huntington (Ind.) 61: Suzie Broski scored 20 points to lead St. Xavier (11-3) into the championship.
