High School, Local College Sports Roundup for Jan. 16

Boys Basketball

Stagg 62, Oak Lawn 37: Kevin White (18 points, 6 assists), Sean Dwyer (16 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals) and Max Strus (11 points) led the way for visiting Stagg (13-4).

Rich East 66, Rich Central 54: Don Henderson tallied 17 points as host Rich East (9-4, 3-1) won in the Southland Athletic Conference. Rich South (8-10, 3-2) was paced by Jamal Murray (17 points, 10 rebounds) and Jalen Miller (17 points, 8 rebounds).

Boys Bowling

Sandburg 2,149, Tinley Park 1,947: Steve Jacobsen of host Sandburg (8-5) shot games of 300 and 246 for a school record 246 series at Orland Bowl. Tyler Knight added a 242 game for the Eagles, while Tinley Park’s James Millsaps shot a team-high 244 game.

Girls Bowling

Lincoln-Way East 1,423, Crete-Monee 1,154: Rachel Tobolaski led the way for host Lincoln-Way East with a high game of 213 en route to a 360 series at Thunder Bowl.

Women’s Basketball

St. Xavier 99, Trinity Christian 58: Maureen Riley made a career-high eight three-pointers and finished with a career-high 24 points, while Morgan Stuut added 20 points and Caitlin McMahon eight points, eight rebounds and five blocks for host St. Xavier (17-3, 12-3) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
