Girls State Gymnastics: Andrew’s Jamie Valla 11th in all-around

Andrew’s Jamie Valla finished 11th in the all-around competition Friday in the Girls State Gymnastics Meet at Palatine.
The senior posted a score of 37.225 over four events. Her best performance came on the vault (9.600), where her 10th-place showing enabled her to qualify for the finals on Saturday.
Valla also had a 9.275 on the uneven parallel bars, a 9.225 on the floor exercise and a 9.125 on the balance beam.
Lauren Feely, of Carmel, was the all-around champion with a 38.700. Prairie Ridge co-op (149.300) won the team title, edging runner-up Lyons (149.050).
