Class 1A Serena Regional
Illinois Lutheran 55, St. Francis de Sales 51: Illinois Lutheran (19-6) advanced to the championship.
Class 2A Reed-Custer Regional
Bishop McNamara 52, Beecher 35: Beecher (9-18) was eliminated in the semifinal.
Girls Indoor Track & Field
Thornwood triangular: Mariam Faniyi won the 60-yard high hurdles (9.75 seconds) and 60-yard low hurdles (9.82) in leading Thornwood (80) past Hillcrest (53) and Ag. Science (43). Hillcrest’s Zaire Sherrill won the high jump (4 feet, 10 inches) and triple jump (33-9), while Ag. Science’s Ebony Gould took first in the 440-yard dash (1 minute, 13.14 seconds).
Men’s Volleyball
Lourdes 25-21-25-25, St. Xavier 16-25-19-18: Justin Cousin tied his career high with 18 kills and also posted eight digs to lead host St. Xavier (2-13, 2-7). Dan French added 33 assists for the Cougars in the East Division of the Mid-America Men’s Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference.
