TOP 10 PITCHERS

Mike Costanzo, Jr., St. Rita: The left-hander is a vicious competitor, boasting a tailing, mid-80s (mph) fastball. An Austin Peay recruit.

Eric Duzan, Sr., Lockport: The right-hander won five games as a junior. A Prairie State College recruit.

Jake Godfrey, Sr., Providence: The hard-throwing junior was 5-1 in 2012. He’s headed to Notre Dame in 2014.

Bob Kametas, Sr., Oak Lawn: He has the arsenal to overpower hitters. A St. Joseph’s College bound.

Mike Kornacker, Jr., St. Laurence: His fastball consistently reaches upper 80s (mph). A Purdue recruit.

Jeremy Kravetz, Sr., Mount Carmel: This lefty has great movement on all pitches. Will attend Kansas.

Jake Latz, Jr., Lemont: The southpaw has an explosive fastball and a knee-buckling breaking ball. An LSU recruit.

Zach Lewis, Sr., St. Laurence: Has a dynamite fastball that can reach low 90s (mph). Has yet to decide on college. Numerous D-I schools interested.

Mike Miller, Sr. Lincoln-Way North: Few work the plate better than this All-Area right-hander. A Southern Illinois-Edwardsville recruit.

Bryan Pall, Jr., Sandburg: He has big-time fastball, along with big-time potential. Michigan-bound in 2014.

Derek Bangert, Sr., Lockport: The returning All-Area catcher carries heavy stick and powerful arm. A Heartland Community College recruit.

Cody Bohanek, Sr., Marist: Returning All-Area player can flash some serious leather and provide pop at the plate.

Matt Cole, Sr., Rich Central: The four-year varsity member is a consistent power threat. Going to Alcorn State.

Dan Durkin, Sr., Andrew: This returning All-Area representative and left-handed hitter wears out gaps. Will attend Michigan State.

Jerry Houston, Sr., Mount Carmel: A returning All-Area shortstop, he hits for average and power, and has excellent baseball instincts. An Oregon recruit.

Ryan Pellack, Sr., Lincoln-Way North: Blocks pitches and throws out runners with the best of them. Dangerous bat. Headed to St. Xavier.

Jake Shepski, Jr., St. Rita: The slick-fielding middle infielder puts the ball in play at the plate. Going to Notre Dame in 2014.

Adam Samad, Sr., Shepard: The returning All-Area selection has the potential to reach the deep seats.

Kevin Smith, Sr., Lincoln-Way North: A transfer from St. Laurence, he has major power potential. Creighton recruit.

Ted Snidanko, Sr., Lockport: This pure hitter who makes things happen. Going to Purdue.
