Boys Water Polo
Sandburg 14, Bremen co-op 5: Kevin Tunney scored six goals to pace Sandburg (2-0) in Orland Park. Quinn Johnson had all five goals for Bremen co-op (2-1).
Lincoln-Way Central 12, St. Rita 9: Alex McCormick’s four goals sparked host Lincoln-Way Central (1-1). The Knights also received two goals apiece from Alex Smith, Steve Grill and Kyle Forsythe.
Girls Water Polo
Naperville North 13, Marian Catholic 1: Emily Amadio had the goal for visiting Marian Catholic (4-4).
Sandburg 7, Bremen co-op 4: Cara Hayes, Sarah Dolitsky and Brittany Kamper all contributed two goals for visiting Sandburg (4-1). Hannah Schultz had a pair of goals for Bremen co-op (3-3).
Andrew 7, Young 5 (OT): Megan Hofer netted four goals, including the match winner, to guide Andrew in it season opener. Annamarie Lettiere, Eleanor Peach and Rachel Fus also scored for the Thunderbolts.
Badminton
Shepard 11, T.F. North 4: Vicki Castro (No. 5) and Kaitlyn Sullivan (No. 6) won their respective singles matches for host Shepard in the South Suburban crossover. The two also teamed up for a victory at No. 4 doubles.
