Nazareth 2, Chicago Christian 1: Sam Kubik had a hit and a run for visiting Chicago Christian in its season opener. Davina Gutierrez allowed five hits and struck out four in pitching a complete game for the Knights.
Boys Volleyball
Reavis 19-25-25, Oak Forest 25-22-18: Moe Abousalem had nine kills and 10 blocks to pace host Reavis (1-1, 1-1) in the South Suburban crossover.
Shepard 25-25, Argo 11-18: Kyle Joy had four kills and four solo blocks to aid visiting Shepard (2-0, 2-0) in the South Suburban Red. Jose Soto and Treavon Baker posted four kills apiece for Argo (0-2, 0-2).
Girls Soccer
Queen of Peace 5, St. Francis de Sales 0: Nina Izzo had a hat trick for Queen of Peace (3-2) in the GCAC crossover at St. Laurence.
Badminton
Oak Forest 15, T.F. North 0: Kathy Flanagan (No. 2) and Amy McKeown (No. 3) posted singles wins for host Oak Forest (3-1, 2-1) in the South Suburban dual.
Morton 14, Argo 1: Mariela Marquez and Julie Gardner won at No. 1 doubles for host Argo.
Lincoln-Way East 11, Stagg 4: Caitlin Duffner (No. 1) won her singles match and also teamed with Bri Michaels for a victory at No. 1 doubles to pace host Lincoln-Way East (1-1) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.
Reavis 11, Oak Lawn 4: Marissa Mangala and Denna Zayed won at top-seeded doubles for visiting Reavis in the South Suburban meet. Oak Lawn’s Ellie LaSpina was a winner at No. 1 singles.
Lincoln-Way North 12, Bolingbrook 3: Cayleigh Bucyk and Toni Garcia chalked up a win at No. 2 doubles for visiting Lincoln-Way North in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.
Boys Water Polo
Lincoln-Way North 12, Lincoln-Way East 9: Jake Pearson totaled four goals, five assists and three steals to spark host Lincoln-Way North (4-3-1) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Patrick Budney added a hat trick for the Phoenix. Lincoln-Way East fell to 1-5.
Brother Rice 9, De La Salle 5: Ian Disteldorf and Kevin Mayer each had three goals for visiting Brother Rice (5-4, 3-2) in the Metro Catholic.
Girls Water Polo
Mother McAuley 9, Sandburg 5: Hat tricks by Amy Kopale, Clare Bryar and Vicki Arciniega powered Mother McAuley (9-1) at Brother Rice. Brittany Kamper and Lauren Olson each scored twice for Sandburg (6-3).
