No. 1 Lincoln-Way North 11, Barrington 1: Kevin Smith (3-for-4) and Tyler Gaynor had two RBI apiece and Josh Handzik added three runs in pacing visiting Lincoln-Way North (3-0). Kyle Ostrowski and Brett King combined on a one-hitter for the Phoenix.

Lincoln-Way East 3, Loyola 2: Evan Sandmann stroked an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth and scored the deciding run later in the frame for Lincoln-Way East (2-1). Brandon Nathan allowed two earned runs and struck out five in pitching a complete game for the Griffins.

Crete-Monee 12, Eisenhower 2: Kyle Tilley (2-for-4) had three RBI and Christopher Cockle (2-for-3) had three runs to spark host Crete-Monee (1-2) in the six-inning game. Juan Gallardo and Gustavo Gallegos posted RBI for Eisenhower (0-3).

Tinley Park 15, Hillcrest 0: Tom Loranger (9 strikeouts) hurled a one-hitter and Josh Simon (2-for-4) had four RBI in lifting visiting Tinley Park (4-1, 1-0) in the five-inning South Suburban Blue game.

Lincoln-Way Central 8, Romeoville 6: Pat Michalak’s three-run double keyed a six-run outburst in the top of the sixth for Lincoln-Way Central (2-1).

Homewood-Flossmoor 11, Rich South 6: Austin Smith (2-for-3) and Patrick Sheehan (2-for-4) posted two runs and two RBI apiece to pace host Homewood-Flossmoor (2-1). Brandon Hrobowski (2-for-3) had a run and an RBI for Rich South (1-1).

Rich Central 17, T.F. North 5: Matt Cole (4-for-5) belted a three-run homer and racked up seven RBI for visiting Rich Central (4-0).

Evergreen Park 10, Argo 5: Keyshawn Carpenter’s two-run homer aided the cause for host Evergreen Park (1-2, 1-0) in the South Suburban Red.

Chicago Christian 10, Walther Lutheran 7: Sean O’Meara had two doubles, two runs and three RBI in directing visiting Chicago Christian (8-1) in its Suburban Christian opener.

Illinois Lutheran 11, Tri-Point 1: Grant Farmer’s four RBI steered visiting Illinois Lutheran (3-0, 1-0) in the six-inning River Valley contest.

Seton 9, Ag. Science 4: William Thomas posted two hits, two runs and two RBI for Seton (4-1).

Pinewood (S.C.) 3, No. 3 St. Rita 2: St. Rita (10-1) gave up three runs in the bottom of the seventh.

West Ashley (S.C.) 5, Reavis 0: Jose Romero pitched 51/3 innings for Reavis (3-3), allowing one earned run on one hit to go along with nine strikeouts.

Hanahan (S.C.) 5, Marist 4: Jack Gainer homered for Marist (1-3).

No. 2 Mount Carmel 5, Crawfordsville (Ind.) 0: Jason Gasser’s three-run triple spurred Mount Carmel (6-1). Marko Boricich threw a one-hitter and struck out 10 for the Caravan.

Softball

Plainfield North 4, No. 8 Lincoln-Way East 3: Nikki Jarrell hit a two-run homer and Juell Hodges tacked on an RBI single for visiting Lincoln-Way East (2-1).

No. 9 Oak Forest 6, Shepard 5: Alyssa Johnson’s solo homer in the bottom of the sixth snapped a 4-all tie and Brianna Getzloff scored on an error four batters later to propel Oak Forest (4-0, 3-0) in the South Suburban crossover. Grace Michalik (2-for-3) had three RBI for Shepard (3-1, 3-1), while Francesca Graffeo (2-for-2, 3 runs) added a solo homer and two RBI.

No. 10 Tinley Park 16, Evergreen Park 4: Alyssa Williams launched a three-run homer for visiting Tinley Park (6-0, 5-0) in the five-inning South Suburban crossover.

Eisenhower 15, T.F. North 5: Cortney Chase (3-for-3, 2 runs) doubled twice and totaled five RBI to lead visiting Eisenhower (1-2, 1-1) in the six-inning South Suburban crossover.

Richards 10, T.F. South 2: Breanna Kaminski (4-for-4, 2 runs) swatted three doubles and finished with four RBI to power host Richards (3-2, 3-1) in the South Suburban crossover.

Girls Water Polo

Andrew 18, Stagg 4: Megan Hofer scored seven goals to lead visiting Andrew in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Sandburg 12, Lockport 5: Hat tricks by Brittany Kamper, Maggie Foley and Sarah Dolitsky led host Sandburg in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Alona King made 18 saves for the Eagles. Christine Bafia had three goals for Lockport.

Lincoln-Way Central 15, Lincoln-Way East 5: Danijela Jackovich’s seven goals and three assists led host Lincoln-Way Central in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Haley McCabe and Taylor Jach were among the goal scorers for Lincoln-Way East.
