Baseball

No. 1 Lincoln-Way North 9, Bradley 0: Mike Miller (8 strikeouts) scattered three hits over six innings and Ryan Pellack (3-for-4, run) contributed two RBI for host Lincoln-Way North (16-6, 6-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

No. 3 Mount Carmel 4, Clemente 2: John Wirtel, Jerry Houston and Joe Kennedy posted RBI for host Mount Carmel (19-3). Austin Dodson (6innings) gave up two earned runs on two hits for the Caravan.

Merrillville Andrean 4, No. 4 St. Laurence 3: Brad Wood, Zach Lewis and Mike Miller drove in runs for host St. Laurence (15-5).

No. 7 Lincoln-Way East 13, Richards 5: Evan Sandmann (3-for-5, 2 runs) and Aaron Donald (2-for-5, 2 runs) knocked in three runs apiece to catapult visiting Lincoln-Way East (12-2). Chad Prieto (3-for-5, RBI) scored three times for the Griffins, who outscored Richards 8-0 over the final two innings. Jim Wujcik had a homer and two RBI for Richards (8-13).

No. 8 Rich Central 11, Rich East 1: Jake McCabe (8 strikeouts) hurled a one-hitter and Matt Cole registered four RBI to lead visiting Rich Central (11-2, 5-0) in the six-inning Southland game.

No. 9 Sandburg 2, Bolingbrook 0: Bryan Pall (3-1) fired a four-hitter and struck out six to steer visiting Sandburg (11-5, 3-4) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Austin Cangelosi and David Cronin knocked in runs for the Eagles.

Stagg 5, No. 10 Andrew 4: Brett Stratinsky scored the winning run on Jack Duffner’s fifth-inning single to boost host Stagg (7-13, 4-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Zach Klockowski and Kevin Walsh had RBI singles for Andrew (13-7, 6-1).

Crete-Monee 13, Rich South 2: Jake Bishop (2-for-3) contributed three runs and two RBI to pace visiting Crete-Monee (11-3, 7-0) in the five-inning Southland game. Brandon Hrowbowski hit a two-run homer for Rich South (5-6, 1-4).

Oak Forest 2, T.F. South 1: Jason Hine tossed a two-hitter and Jim Christian stroke a pair of RBI singles to lead host Oak Forest (8-6, 7-2) in the South Suburban Blue.

Providence 10, Gordon Tech 2: Dylan Rosa swatted a two-run double and Shawn Cavalone added a solo homer for visiting Providence (9-7, 3-4) in the Catholic League crossover.

Lincoln-Way West 16, Thornridge 0: Zach Speaker (2-for-3, 2 runs) belted a three-run homer and totaled four RBI to steer visiting Lincoln-Way West (10-6, 3-3) in the five-inning SouthWest Suburban Red tilt.

Argo 14, Hillcrest 3: Brendan Krob (2-for-4) had four RBI and Zac Crisostomo (4-hitter, 9 strikeouts) went the distance to aid visiting Argo (8-8, 4-6) in the six-inning South Suburban crossover.

Marian Catholic 7, Lincoln-Way Central 2: Brad Bohlen (3-for-3) scored twice and also notched three RBI for host Marian Catholic (8-7). Andrew VanderSchaaf and Lucas Jones posted RBI for Lincoln-Way Central (10-6).

Shepard 8, Eisenhower 1: Matt Schmeski (double) had three RBI and Jeremy Dryier (2-for-3) added three runs for visiting Shepard (7-9) in the South Suburban Red. Nick Medlicott pitched 51/3 innings for the Astros, surrendering one run on two hits and striking out six.

Illinois Lutheran 10, Grace Christian 0: Dylan Gould (2-for-4) chalked up three runs and two RBI for visiting Illinois Lutheran (12-1). Jake Kendrick tossed a three-hitter and struck out 10 for the Chargers in the six-inning game.

Evergreen Park 4, Tinley Park 3: Kyle Venhuizen (5-hitter) recorded a complete game and also drove in two runs to propel Evergreen Park (5-10, 5-5) in the South Suburban crossover at Standard Bank Stadium.

Homewood-Flossmoor 8-1, Joliet Central 1-0: James Sheehan threw a two-hitter and Jesse Forestell stroked an RBI single as host Homewood-Flossmoor (8-6, 4-2) swept the SouthWest Suburban Blue doubleheader. Patrick Sheehan (2-for-3, 2 runs) had three RBI and Isaac Cutrara (2-for-3) added three runs for the Vikings in Game 1.

Softball

No. 2 Marist 4, Downers Grove North 3: Brooke Wilson singled home Lauren Holt with the tiebreaking run in the bottom of the sixth for Marist (10-4). Audra Hecker (7-3) surrendered five hits in pitching a complete game for the RedHawks.

No. 4 Lincoln-Way West 5, Lincoln-Way North 1: Morghan Dieringer fanned 15 in pitching a complete game for host Lincoln-Way West (13-2, 5-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Dani Morgan (4-for-4) led the offense with two runs and two RBI.

No. 7 Andrew 32, Thornridge 0: Hannah Thielmann (5-for-7) compiled three runs and six RBI for visiting Andrew (14-4, 5-2) in the five-inning SouthWest Suburban Red game.

No. 8 Sandburg 8, Homewood-Flossmoor 2: Sarah Herold (3-for-5, 3 runs) contributed a home run and three RBI to vault Sandburg (9-7, 4-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Caroline Kuzel gave up four hits and struck out 10 in going the route for the visiting Eagles.

No. 10 Marian Catholic 6, Bradley 0: Susie Baranski (4-for-4) and Alex Nickel (2-for-4, RBI) provided two runs apiece for host Marian Catholic (6-7). Ally Wallace (5-2) threw a one-hitter and struck out five for the Spartans.

Joliet Central 8, Lincoln-Way Central 2: Jackie Farbak and Alyssa Olson scored runs for host Lincoln-Way Central (7-7, 2-4) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Lemont 11, T.F. South 1: Rylie Jay went 4-for-4 with a double, run and three RBI in guiding host Lemont (11-2) in the five-inning South Suburban Blue affair.

Stagg 16, Thornwood 3: Bri Minet (2 doubles) went 5-for-5 with three runs and three RBI to pave the way for visiting Stagg (3-9) in the five-inning SouthWest Suburban Red contest.

Loyola 10, Queen of Peace 0: Jazmin Ramirez went 3-for-3 to lead visiting Queen of Peace in the GCAC Red.

Crete-Monee 17, Rich Central 3: Abby King was a double short of the cycle in boosting visiting Crete-Monee (5-6, 4-1) in the five-inning Southland game.

Rich East 9, Eisenhower 5: Cayla Brown (4-for-4, 3 runs) doubled twice, homered and drove in two runs for host Rich East (4-6).

Boys Volleyball

Lincoln-Way East 25-25, Joliet West 18-18: Mike Rossetto posted nine assists and Brett Fuessel added four kills to spark visiting Lincoln-Way East (23-1, 5-0) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Tommy Piet added eight assists for the Griffins.

Sandburg 25-25, Lincoln-Way Central 19-19: John Hodul (8 blocks) and Paul Chmura (6 digs) posted six kills apiece for host Sandburg (17-5, 3-2) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Ian Zalewski chipped in 18 assists for the Eagles.

Lincoln-Way West 25-25, Lockport 23-19: Mike Wexter’s 25 assists lifted visiting Lincoln-Way West (13-2, 5-0) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Jake Gasparich and Tony Prospero added seven kills apiece for the Warriors.

Brother Rice 25-25, Loyola 15-19: Dan Hayes’ 19 assists and Kevin Myren’s eight kills keyed host Brother Rice (15-7, 5-1) in the Catholic League Blue.

St. Rita 16-25-25, St. Ignatius 25-23-22: Dan O’Keefe slammed 15 kills and Jake Marquardt dished out 27 assists for host St. Rita (11-11, 3-2) in the Catholic League Blue. Billy White tacked on 14 kills for the Mustangs.

Richards 25-23-25, Shepard 21-25-12: Kyle Joy finished with 10 kills to boost host Shepard (9-12, 5-6) in the South Suburban Red.

Oak Lawn 25-25, Lemont 22-17: Michael Kruger posted a team-best 14 kills for visiting Lemont (11-12, 5-6) in the South Suburban crossover.

Girls Soccer

Crete-Monee 7, Rich South 0: Ashley Cockle netted four goals to lead host Crete-Monee (5-6-1, 3-0) in the Southland.

Lincoln-Way North 1, Andrew 0 (OT): Lexi Cesario scored off an assist from Amber Huppert to spearhead host Lincoln-Way North (7-3-4, 2-0) in the South Suburban Red. Andrew fell to 9-3, 3-1.

Lincoln-Way East 2, Joliet West 1: Meghan Grady’s goal was the difference for visiting Lincoln-Way East (6-4-1, 2-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Sam Fiorella also scored for the Griffins.

Catholic Cup Challenge

Mother McAuley 3, Providence 2: Christina Sperando notched a hat trick for host Mother McAuley (3-4-3). Jamie Noonan and Maggie Corso netted goals for Providence (5-8).

Boys Tennis

Shepard 5, Hillcrest 0: Bryan Spoon (No. 1) and Robert Jatho (No. 2) won their respective singles matches for host Shepard in the South Suburban crossover.

Andrew 5, Lincoln-Way Central 2: Kevin Sivak won at No. 1 singles to pace host Andrew (12-6, 7-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Tyler Edwards and Sean Bensema added a victory at No. 4 doubles for the Thunderbolts.

Lincoln-Way East 4, Sandburg 3: Anthony Neri and Conner VanderGenugten (No. 3 doubles) won the deciding match for host Lincoln-Way East (17-2, 6-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Boys Water Polo

Lincoln-Way North 8, Stagg 7: Curtis Thrun put in seven goals to power host Lincoln-Way North (17-6, 8-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Girls Water Polo

Sandburg 11, Lincoln-Way East 7: Maggie Foley scored six goals and Jane Zieba made 13 saves to propel host Sandburg in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Stephanie Bitz netted a pair of goals for Lincoln-Way East.

Girls Track & Field

Reavis Relays: Reavis (77 points) won the high jump (12 feet, 8 inches) and discus (239-11 ½) relays in placing second behind Romeoville (101) in the nine-team meet. Third-place Argo (61) prevailed in the mile (18 minutes, 4 seconds) and distance medley (14:30) relays.

Girls Lacrosse

Mother McAuley 12, York 4: Annie Hopkins totaled five goals and two assists for Mother McAuley (7-3). Claire Sheahan made 11 saves for the Mighty Macs.

College Softball

St. Xavier 13-10, Judson 10-2: Nicole Nonnemacher went a combined 4-for-6 with four runs and six RBI as visiting St. Xavier (40-4, 19-1) captured the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference title. Nonnemacher (19-3) also went the distance in Game 2, allowing two earned runs on five
