Class 4A Crete-Monee Regional
No. 7 Lincoln-Way East 12, Crete-Monee 2: Nikki Jarrell (2-for-3) had three RBI and Chrisi Mizera (10-0) struck out eight over four innings to spur Lincoln-Way East (19-7). Blake Ruiz (3-for-3) and Jenny Van Geertry (2-for-3) added two RBI apiece for the Griffins in the five-inning semifinal. Abby King had two hits and two RBI for Crete-Monee (18-8).
Class 4A Hinsdale Central Regional
No. 2 Marist 18, Eisenhower 0: Marist (24-9) rolled to the five-inning victory. Eisenhower finished 6-21.
Class 4A Lyons Regional
No. 3 Mother McAuley 13, Washington 0: Jessica Alberts threw a one-hitter and fanned seven to aid Mother McAuley (19-5) in the five-inning game.
Class 4A Sandburg Regional
Sandburg 13, De La Salle 0: Sarah Herold pitched a one-hitter (10 strikeouts) and also smashed a two-run double to propel Sandburg (21-14) in the five-inning contest. Candice Koch (4-for-4, 2 runs) added a two-run double and three RBI for the Eagles.
Class 3A Lincoln-Way West Regional
No. 4 Lincoln-Way West 20, Rich East 3: Annalyse Ryan’s two-run homer keyed Lincoln-Way West (29-5) in the five-inning tilt. Kaylie Fisher went 1-for-2 with a run for Rich East (7-19).
Marian Catholic vs. Rich South
Class 3A Oak Forest Regional
No. 10 Tinley Park 6, Joliet Catholic 3: Alyssa Gunther (3-for-4, 3 stolen bases) had two runs and three RBI to lift Tinley Park (20-7). Lexxi Lux (2-for-4, run) added two RBI for the Titans.
Class 3A Queen of Peace Regional
No. 9 Lemont 22, Noble Street-Comer 0: Rylie Jay hit three home runs – including a grand slam – and totaled nine RBI to power Lemont (23-6) in the five-inning affair.
Class 2A Bishop McNamara Sectional
Chicago Christian 22, Cristo Rey 0: Winning pitcher Davina Gutierrez (2-for-3, triple) had three runs and three RBI in guiding Chicago Christian (19-8) to a berth in the championship. Sam Kubik (3-for-4, 2 triples) added three runs and two RBI for the Knights in the five-inning game.
Homewood-Flossmoor 6, Crete-Monee 3: Kendall King (2-for-4) swatted a two-run double and James Sheehan (2-for-3, 2 runs) belted a solo homer to vault host Homewood-Flossmoor (17-13). Chris Cockle homered for Crete-Monee (21-8), which also received run-scoring hits from Craig Quick (double) and Logan Kent (single).
Marian Catholic 19, Manteno 7: Brent Feldner (3-for-3, 2 runs, 5 RBI) smashed a two-run homer and a two-run double to catapult visiting Marian Catholic (21-14) in the five-inning game. Brad Bohlen (2-for-4, 4 runs) racked up a two-run double and four RBI for the Spartans, who scored 11 runs in first inning.
Brother Rice Regional
Brother Rice 25-25, Oak Forest 11-16: Kevin Myren had eight kills and Dan Hayes delivered 18 assists to pace Brother Rice (27-9). Mitch Weiler (7 kills) and Andrew Wilkison (6) also starred for the Crusaders in the semifinal. Oak Forest ended the season 14-16.
Marist 25-21-25, Oak Lawn 19-25-17: Matt Munro provided 10 kills and 11 blocks to lead Marist (20-15). Mike Schreiber added 31 assists for the RedHawks and Brendan Hopkins had 17 digs. Oak Lawn finished 19-14.
Cristo Rey Regional
Argo 25-25, St. Laurence 17-21: Sam De La Rosa dished out 15 assists and Jose Soto slammed seven kills to pace Argo (7-21). Mark Leahy chipped in five kills for the Argonauts.
Marian Catholic Regional
Providence 25-19-25, Stagg 17-25-14: Zack Lake (13 service points) and Brendan Surane had seven kills apiece for Providence. Dan Niemiec added 10 assists for the Celtics.
Lincoln-Way East 26-25, Homewood-Flossmoor 24-22: Ryan Vorderer posted 10 kills to spark Lincoln-Way East (33-3). Nate Van Dellen and Mike Rossetto tacked on eight and six kills, respectively, for the Griffins. Homewood-Flossmoor closed with a 10-21-2 mark.
Andrew 25-25, Richards 21-17: Sanil Thomas provided 14 assists and four digs to lead Andrew (15-16-2). Kyle Kawczynski added five kills for the Thunderbolts and Neal Hausmann had five digs.
