Football: Lincoln-Way North blanks Hillcrest

The legs of Julian Hylton and the right foot of Oswaldo Salazar spearheaded Lincoln-Way North in the home opener for the Phoenix (2-0). Hillcrest fell to 0-2.
Two minutes after recovering a fumble at the Hillcrest 41, Hylton scored from 2 yards out to push the Phoenix lead to 24-0 with 6:40 left in the third quarter.
One week after totaling 300 yards of offense, Hylton rushed for 215 yards and touchdown runs of 2, 29, 31 and 72 yards. Salazar kicked field goals of 37, 37 and 40 yards.
BY THE NUMBERS
Lincoln-Way North is 2-0 for the third time in the last four years after beating Hillcrest for the fourth time in as many meetings. Hillcrest lost for the 28th time in its last 29 games.
