Ag. Science 36, University of Chicago-Woodlawn 7: Brionte Zinnerman had 160 yards and three touchdowns for Ag. Science (2-1, 1-0) in the Public League Inter-City 4 contest at Gately Stadium.
Aurora Christian Invitational: Homewood-Flossmoor (11-4) swept its five opponents, including Woodstock 25-16, 25-18 in the championship of the weekend tournament. Annalise Robinson had 53 assists and 26 service points for the Vikings, who also received contributions from Helena Vallar (39 assists), Candace Tate (24 kills) and Lexi Jung (20 kills, 27 service points, 10 aces).
Nike Crossroads Classic: Illiana Christian (6-8) finished 16th out of 24 teams in the two-day event in Effingham. Jamie Petrarca had 32 kills and 44 blocks through five matches for the Vikings, whose only win was a 25-22, 25-27, 25-20 decision over the host school. Sydnee Van Beek added 31 kills and 20 digs for Illiana.
Andrew 3, Brother Rice 1: Jonathan Sustaita, Jesus Mendez and Sam Abujoudeh netted goals for visiting Andrew (3-3).
Marian Catholic 1, Carmel 1: Jesse Gallegos scored for host Marian Catholic (9-2-1) in its East Suburban Catholic opener.
Mount Carmel 2, Marmion 0: Goals by Nikola Bosnjak and Daniel Balog propelled host Mount Carmel (3-4-2).
Stagg 2, Lemont 1: Phil Kolesinski and Roberto Torres had the goals for host Stagg (4-0).
Curie 4, St. Laurence 1: Adrian Diaz scored for host St. Laurence (2-4).
Beecher 3, Clifton Central 1: Tanner Amsden, Bailey Schultz and Brandon Meltz provided goals for visiting Beecher (7-4).
Bloom 2, Reavis 0: Juan Elizalde and Ricardo Aldape each had a goal and an assist for host Bloom (7-2). Chente Herrera had nine saves in recording the shutout.
Lincoln-Way East 4, Plainfield South 3: Bryan Dillberg scored twice - including the winner with 47 seconds left in regulation - to propel host Lincoln-Way East (4-2-1).
Sandburg 3, Eisenhower 0: Alan Garcia notched the shutout for host Sandburg (6-2), which prevailed thanks to goals from Kyle Kroll, Pryshemic Tylka and Ryan Kozlowski.
Lincoln-Way West 2, Joliet West 2: Ian McGrath and Kip Pavlovich provided goals for host Lincoln-Way West (4-2-2).
St. Rita Invitational: Jordan Velez, of St. Laurence, shot a 74 in winning medalist honors at Glenwoodie. Four individuals were two strokes back, including St. Rita’s Darren O’Hanlon and Marist’s Dan Cachey. Oak Park (319) won the team title, with the next four spots occupied by Young (320), St. Rita (337), Marist (340) and Northridge Prep (342).
Oak Forest Invitational: Providence (353) topped Marist by eight strokes to capture the team title at Green Garden. Marist’s Ashley Kay carded an 82 in securing medalist honors. Immediately behind her were Providence teammates Alyssa Newling (84) and Anna Goggins (86), as well as Stagg’s Natalie Collina (86).
Eisenhower quadrangular: Kaelyn Pace and Courtney Foggie (No. 1 doubles) won all three of their matches as Marist cruised to the title by defeating Eisenhower (5-0), Mother McAuley (4-1) and Shepard (4-1). Among the other champions for the RedHawks were singles player Diana Flores (No. 2) and the No. 2 doubles team of Maggie Ringbauer and Claire Callahan. Shepard’s Rhonda Habbal went undefeated at top-seeded singles.
Oak Forest quadrangular: Benita Joseph (No. 2 singles) was runner-up in helping Oak Forest (15 points) finished second behind Morton (24). The Bengals also received second-place finishes from Ilona LaRoche and Megan Fraider at No. 1 doubles and the No. 2 doubles team of Danielle Fraider and Annie Samoska. Rich South (10) and Queen of Peace (2) also participated.
Boys Cross Country
First to the Finish Invitational: Lincoln-Way Central (252) was fifth in the 45-team field in Class 3A at Peoria’s Detweiller Park. The Knights were led by Chris Kaminski (15 minutes, 9.73 seconds), who finished 12th in the 3-mile race. Lockport’s Will Giroux (15:12.91) was 18th. Nick Fiene (15:01.39) took fifth in Class 2A as Illiana Christian (121) finished first among the 52 scoring squads.
Girls Cross Country
First to the Finish Invitational: Morgan Bollinger (18:22.90) was 24th as Lockport (203) finished sixth out of 27 teams in Class 3A. J.J. Robinson (18:34.54) came in 27th for Lincoln-Way Central (253), which finished 10th. In Class 2A, Lemont (265) was fifth in the 51-team field. Claire Gagen (18:52.43) led the Indians with a 28th-place showing.
Shepard Invitational: No times were provided for the nine-team won by Tinley Park (292). Among the standouts for the Titans was Hannah Schultz, who placed first in the 100-yard butterfly and 100 breaststroke. Victoria Lambton prevailed in the 50 free and 100 free for runner-up Evergreen Park (285). Third-place Shepard (264) was paced by Annie Rangel, who posted the top times in the 200 free and 500 free.
Siena Heights 4, St. Xavier 2: Lexi Cozzi scored both goals for visiting St. Xavier (2-3-1).
