Football: Sandburg doubles up on Lockport 28-14

Sandburg overcame four turnovers to win the SouthWest Suburban Blue opener for both teams. Brian Langowski rushed for two scores and Sean Leland threw for two as the Eagles improved to 2-1, 1-0. Lockport fell to 0-3, 0-1.
Trailing 21-14, Lockport was stopped for no gain on a fourth-and-1 at the Eagles 39. Sandburg then drove 61 yards in nine plays and Langowski scored from 2 yards out on third-and-goal with 10:23 remaining in the game.
Langowski was a workhorse, with 27 carries for a season-high 135 yards and the two scores. After a Lockport fumble on the opening play from scrimmage, he scored from 3 yards out for a 7-0 lead just 53 seconds into the game. He had eight carries for 36 yards on the clinching TD drive.
BY THE NUMBERS
Leland was 6-of-17 with one interception for 80 yards, all of the yards coming in the first half. He had a 23-yard TD pass to Adam Valiga and a 5-yard scoring toss to Graham Hevel to help the Eagles take a 21-7 halftime lead. Justin Krzeczkowski returned a blocked punt 21 yards for a TD and Cory Savage scored on a 1-yard plunge for the Porters, who were outgained 266-93.
