Oak Forest led 20-8 midway through the third quarter, only to see host Lemont take a one-point lead at 21-20 with 8:22 remaining in the game. Oak Forest safety Joe Muller blocked a Lemont punt late and set up the Bengals deep inside the Indians territory. Bengals kicker Mike Wojtanowski connected on a 25-yard field goal with 2:18 remaining for the lead and eventual victory.
Lemont (1-3, 0-1 South Suburban Blue) had the ball with 4:44 remaining in the game and on their 32-yard line but after a quick three-and-out looked to change field position in their favor. Lemont’s Joe Bailey, who earlier had a punt travel 75 yards, had his punt blocked by a diving Muller that resulted in Oak Forest (3-1, 2-0) getting the ball on the Indians 10 with 3:50 left.
Oak Forest quarterback Nick Ciufia ran the ball 30 times for 225 yards and scored three touchdowns. One of those touchdowns included a 65-yard fumble recovery for a score.

Oak Forest didn’t complete a pass in the game (0-of-7) but still managed to outgain Lemont in total offense 383-358. Lemont running back Jimmy Kepouros had 13 receptions for 155 yards and a TD.
“All of my teammates before the kick told me that they love me even if I miss, but they got me to that point in the game and so I knew I had to make it, then and I did.” — Wojtanowski
