Football: Lockport rallies past Stagg 25-21

Tyler Johnson scored on a 6-yard run with 38.9 seconds to play in the game to give the Porters their first win of the season before a Homecoming crowd. The TD capped a 14-play, 88-yard drive. The Porters improved to 1-4 overall, 1-2 in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Stagg fell to 2-3, 0-3.
Tyler Mackessy had given Stagg a 21-10 lead when he returned a partially blocked punt 15 yards on the final play of the third quarter. The Porters responded with a 57-yard TD drive, capped by a 16-yard run from Johnson, and made the 2-point conversion to cut the lead to three with 10:04 to play.
Lockport quarterback Ryan Dalton ran four times for 52 yards and completed three passes for 38 yards on the game-winning drive. Dalton completed a 19-yard pass to Cory Andrus on third-and-17 on the Porters’ final drive.
BY THE NUMBERS
Dalton was 6-of-17 for 86 yards. Johnson had 15 carries for 97 yards and Cory Savage scored on a 3-yard run for Lockport. Stagg quarterback Adam Pilota was 6-of-12 for 159 yards and had TD throws of 44 yards to Mackessy and 71 yards to Dennis Egan.
