Football: Bolingbrook stops Lockport 24-3

John Hall scored on second-half touchdown runs of 10 and 4 yards as Bolingbrook (6-0, 4-0 SouthWest Suburban Blue) extended a 10-3 halftime lead. The Raiders clinched a playoff berth for the 22nd straight season. Lockport fell to 1-5, 1-3.
Lockport’s Cory Savage ripped of a 50-yard run on the first play from scrimmage in the second half. But 30 yards away from potentially tying the game, the Porters fumbled and Mikal Cooley recovered the fumble at his own 31. Ten plays later, Hall scored from 10 yards out for a 17-3 Bolingbrook lead with 6:26 left in the third quarter.
The Raiders defense forced three turnovers, converting converted them into 17 points. Parrker Westphal and Jacob Huff added interceptions. Lockport finished with 130 total yards.
BY THE NUMBERS
Hall finished with 13 carries for 44 yards and the two scores. Mike Valentine had 12 carries for 79 yards and Quincy Woods finished with 16 carries for 38 yards and opened the scoring on a 1-yard run for the Raiders. Aaron Ambrose connected on a 35-yard field goal for Lockport make it 10-3 with 11 seconds left in the first half. Savage had 10 carries for 74 yards. Porters quarterback Ryan Dalton, who left the game midway through the third quarter with a shoulder injury, was 3-of-5 for 13 yards.
