Richards 40, Reavis 0
Coming off a 35-34 home loss in Week 5 to Evergreen Park, Richards (5-1, 3-1) regrouped with a big win in the South Suburban Red in Oak Lawn. The Bulldogs scored a touchdown on each of their four first-half possessions to go up 26-0 at halftime.
On a fourth-and-2 from the Richards 9-yard line early in the first quarter, Reavis quarterback Jose Romero scrambled left but was thrown for a two-yard loss by Richards lineman Savon Robinson. After the turnover on downs, Richards scored on a Hasan Muhammad-Rogers to Tacari Carpenter 27-yard touchdown strike to go up 6-0 and never looked back.
In throwing for two touchdowns and 166 yards, along with two rushing scores on six carries for 50 yards, Muhammad-Rogers, a junior quarterback, did it all for Richards.
BY THE NUMBERS
Carpenter added a 64-yard TD run on a sweep and Ramonta Hill (8 carries, 139 yards) had a 55-yard TD run for the Bulldogs. Travis Liszewski finished with 17 carries and 96 rushing yards for Reavis (3-3, 2-2). The Rams need two wins over their final three games to be eligible for the IHSA playoffs.
“We learned from the Evergreen loss that we can’t be content and on top of the world. We got a little big-headed, but we’re back down to earth.” — Muhammad-Rogers
