Samuel Chirich inducted into Joliet Area Bowling Hall of Fame

The Annual Joliet Area Bowling Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner was held Saturday at the Joliet Moose Family Center.
Hosting this year’s event was the Joliet Area USBC WBA. Hall of Fame chairman Carol Johnson was the master of ceremonies.
The night began with the introduction of Hall of Fame members in attendance and the induction of Samuel Chirich into the Joliet Area Bowling Hall of Fame for meritorious service.
Chirich was credited for his many years of volunteerism and work for the sport of bowling. A member of the board of directors of the Joliet Area USBC BA for more than 20 years, Chirich also has been a vice president for 10 years and treasurer for five, and was named Director of the Year in 1999.
Chirich, who has bowled in one league for 46 continuous years, has a high average of 199, high game of 299 and high series of 767.
Also at the event, 34 trophies were given to the winners of their age divisions at the Annual Senior Handicap Tournament, a tournament for bowlers age 55 and older.
Ranging in age from 55 to 89, the recipients were Karen Hart, Catherine Baudino, Libby Hall, Shirley Caldwell, Rosie Huzl, Lilli Bass, Andrea McCowan, Ina McCune, Jackie Stout, Chris Suchan, Johanna Biedron, John terHorst, Brian Hirner, Randy Kemp, Gerald Koci, Richard Haltek, Joseph Zenkel, Rudy Ganal, Ronald Bass, Gerald Carr, Jeff Krumlinde, Lee Gombash and Wayne Nosse.
Named 2013 Senior Queen was Diana Skrzynecki, who had 317 points. It was her first crown. First runner-up was Linda Senkpiel (247 points), second runner-up was Jackie Stout (219), third runner-up was Deborah Brown (209) and fourth runner-up was Susan Hirner (203).
Wearing the Senior King’s crown for the second time is Steve Benson, who had 281.5 points. First runner-up was Wayne Nosse (261.6), second runner-up was George Kontos (247.8), third runner-up was Terry Wrona (244.4) and fourth runner-up was Don Rimbo (244).
Nikki Lunsford was crowned Queen of Joliet Bowling for the eighth time. She had 303.4 points. First runner-up was Patti Schultz (272.46), second runner-up was Leann Hirner (245.37), third runner-up was Trisha Jakel (244.28), fourth runner-up was Melanie DeCarlo (242.57), fifth runner-up was Jenny Petzoldt (241.58), sixth runner-up was Nicholette Watters (236.31), seventh runner-up was Tammy Richter (225.54), eighth runner-up was Andrea French (225.44) and ninth runner-up was Tara Paxson (214.75).
Wade Gayhart was crowned King of Joliet Bowling for the fifth time with a total of 311.5 points. First runner-up was Michael McAleer (292.5), second runner-up was Tom Heniff (289.9), third runner-up was Andrew Welz (289.8), fourth runner-up was Chris Paxson (266.9), fifth runner-up was Steve Benson (264.02), sixth runner-up was Dan Bachar (258.9), seventh runner-up was Jeff Kersey (248.36), eighth runner-up was Steven Lunsford (248.31) and ninth runner-up was Al Hardesty (247.3).
