1. The Class 3A Andrew Sectional is up for grabs. How deep is the field? Lincoln-Way North, seeded 16th, has a win over No. 2 seed Sandburg. The two could meet again in a regional semifinal. No. 8 seed Marist and No. 9 seed Bolingbrook, both red-hot, meet in a regional semifinal with the winner to potentially face top-seeded Lockport. That’s if the Porters can get past Shepard or Homewood-Flossmoor in a challenging playoff opener.
2. Lincoln-Way East and Thornton co-op are headed for a showdown. After East avenged an earlier loss to Lincoln-Way West on Tuesday, the Griffins (3-0) and Wildcats (4-0) are the lone unbeatens in SouthWest Suburban Red play, with the two set to meet in their league finale Tuesday in Harvey. For that to be a winner-take-all affair, East must get by Lincoln-Way North on Thursday and Bradley on Saturday, while Thornton must win Saturday at Andrew.
3. The South Suburban Red will come down to the wire. Reavis and Shepard remain ahead of the pack after Reavis (7-2 in conference) earned a huge win over Argo and Shepard (6-2) routed Oak Forest on Tuesday. Both have major tests ahead as the Rams host Eisenhower on Thursday and visit Lemont on Tuesday. Shepard hosts Tinley Park on Thursday and Bremen on Monday before closing Tuesday at Evergreen Park.
