Girls Volleyball

Providence 25-25, Bishop McNamara 18-19: Rachel Alles had 17 assists and Annie Cummings had eight kills to lead host Providence (16-10, 3-2) in the East Suburban Catholic. Clare Urchell tacked on nine digs for the Celtics.

Sandburg 25-25, Joliet Central 12-14: Julia Borschel posted five kills and Alyssa Kijewski had 10 digs to pace visiting Sandburg (19-7, 3-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Oak Lawn 25-25, Bremen 22-14: Christina Egan’s 18 assists led visiting Oak Lawn (16-5, 9-1) in the South Suburban crossover.

Mother McAuley 25-25, St. Ignatius 13-15: Courtney Joyce had 20 assists and six kills to steer host Mother McAuley (25-2, 5-0) in the GCAC Red. Carla Cahill added 12 digs for the Mighty Macs.

Oak Forest 25-25, Eisenhower 19-19: Alex Lambros had 12 kills and Alyssa Kolecki (8 service points) had 12 assists to boost visiting Oak Forest (7-16, 5-6) in the South Suburban crossover. Sabrina Baxa aided the cause for the Bengals with eight kills.

Lincoln-Way North 25-25, Bradley 11-19: Brittany Pappas (7 kills) and Niki Wagner (8 digs) were among the standouts for host Lincoln-Way North (22-3, 3-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Marian Catholic 25-25, St. Viator 14-19: Maddie Huekels had 22 assists and five kills to spur host Marian Catholic (12-14, 3-3). Collette Scheffers added 10 kills for the Spartans in the East Suburban Catholic.

Loyola 25-25, Mount Assisi 23-12: Kelly Magliano (8 digs) and Anna Broadhurst (5 digs) compiled seven kills apiece for host Mount Assisi (16-17, 4-3) in the GCAC Red.

Lincoln-Way Central 25-25, Lincoln-Way West 19-22: Maria Brown contributed nine kills and five digs to steer visiting Lincoln-Way Central (16-5, 2-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Mariel Leibovitz added 24 assists and four digs for the Knights.

Marist 25-25, Fenwick 12-16: Molly Mayo had 19 assists and Lizzie Zaleski had 12 kills to power host Marist (19-7, 6-0) in the East Suburban Catholic. Shannon McKevitt (8 digs) and Bridget Krasowski (5 kills, 4 digs) were among the other standouts for the RedHawks.

Lemont 25-25, Richards 19-16: Ali Lund had five kills and Jenna Walaszek added five digs to pace visiting Lemont (23-5, 11-1) in the South Suburban crossover. Richards fell to 17-6, 8-3.

Lockport 25-19-25, Homewood-Flossmoor 19-25-21: Kayla Pfeiffer rang up 12 kills, 12 assists and 13 digs to lead host Lockport (13-7, 3-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. The Porters’ other contributors included Lindsey Visvardis (26 digs) and Sarah Kurzawski (7 kills, 10 digs). Helena Vallar had 17 assists and Candace Tate had 15 kills to show the way for Homewood-Flossmoor (19-7, 1-2). Annalise Robinson added 15 assists and 10 digs for the Vikings.

Illiana Christian 25-25, Fenton 16-20: Mikinsey Pruim and Jamie Petrarca each had eight kills for visiting Illiana Christian (18-14, 8-3) in Metro Suburban play. Hannah Wegner led the Vikings in assists with 26.

Boys Soccer

Bloom 8, Rich East 1: Juan Elizalde notched three goals and an assist to spark visiting Bloom (13-4-2, 8-0) in the Southland. Coco Reyes added a goal and two assists for the Blazing Trojans.

Argo 3, Oak Lawn 0: Antonio Martinez’s hat trick propelled visiting Argo (6-7-1, 6-4) in the South Suburban Red.

De La Salle 3, St. Laurence 1: Goals by Ivan Esparza, Simon Aldama and Sal Garcia sparked visiting De La Salle (5-13-1) in the Catholic League crossover.

Homewood-Flossmoor 1, Joliet Central 0: Andrew Lwanga scored on a header with two minutes remaining to lift host Homewood-Flossmoor (5-10-2, 1-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Reavis 2, Eisenhower 0: Jose Estrada and Matt Mulica had goals to help host Reavis (13-5-2, 8-2) clinch at least a share of the South Suburban Red title for the first time in school history.

Tinley Park 1, Shepard 0: Yoshi Iniguez’s goal was the difference for visiting Tinley Park (12-4-1, 5-3) in the South Suburban crossover.

Crete-Monee 2, Kankakee 1: Fernando Aguirre scored twice to propel visiting Crete-Monee (11-4-1, 6-2) in the Southland.

Lincoln-Way East 1, Lincoln-Way North 0: Sean Sibley’s goal made visiting Lincoln-Way East (10-4-2, 4-0) a winner in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Sean McGovern (4 saves) picked up his fifth shutout.

Girls Swimming

Lockport 123, Homewood-Flossmoor 63: Amanda Moran’s wins in the 50-yard freestyle (25.81 seconds) and 100 butterfly (1 minute, 0.44 seconds) led visiting Lockport in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Homewood-Flossmoor’s Susanna Reese was victorious in the 200 individual medley (2:27.09).

Shepard 103, Oak Forest 82: Joanna Rangel notched victories in the 100 breaststroke (1:22.50) and 200 individual medley (2:35.32) to lift host Shepard in the South Suburban crossover. Gretchen Behrens contributed wins in the 200 freestyle (2:13.56) and 500 freestyle (5:45.80) for Oak Forest.

Sandburg 94, Stagg 87: Clare Lawlor prevailed in the 200 individual medley (2:17.29) and 500 free (5:18.97) to pace visiting Sandburg in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Stagg’s Sophia Shalabi was first in the 50 free (25.80) and 100 breaststroke (1:07.62).

Lemont 108, Thornton Fractional co-op 52: Sarah Oprzedek won the 200 free (2:20.27) and 500 free (6:12.32) for host Lemont in the South Suburban Blue. Annette Lesnicki added victories in the 100 free (1:00.83) and 200 individual medley (2:25.28) for the Indians. Jessica Maricich, of Thornton Fractional co-op, had the top time in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.15).

Reavis 127, Argo 40: Susu Almousa, Liliana Tinoco, Allyn Divinagracia and Alison Malmborg swam on the winning 200 free relay team (1:59.10) for host Reavis in the South Suburban Red.

Women’s Volleyball

St. Xavier 22-25-25-25, Illinois Tech 25-18-18-16: Heidi Gregerson and Jessica Galotta had 11 kills apiece for host St. Xavier (10-10). Kelli Shaffer (38 assists, 7 digs) and Meghan Falsey (18 digs) also starred for the Cougars.
