Football: St. Rita runs past St. Ignatius 51-13

St. Rita (6-1, 1-1 Catholic League Blue) proved to be too strong for St. Ignatius (1-6, 0-3 Catholic League White) as the Mustangs ran their way to a big victory at Stagg Field at the University of Chicago.
Senior quarterback Tommy Mister started the scoring for St. Rita, which scored on all five possessions in the first half, by calling his own number on an 8-yard score.
Mister keyed the St. Rita offense, rushing for 90 yards and three scores. D.J. Miles added 94 yards and a touchdown as the starters played just the first half after building a 30-0 halftime lead. Brendan McNally had 82 yards and a touchdown for St. Ignatius.
BY THE NUMBERS
Led by offensive linemen Matt Byrne, James Drenovsky, Mike Lurquin, Tom Schofield and Simon Flores, St. Rita outrushed the Wolfpack 234-6 in the first half. The Mustangs finished the night with 352 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
