Football: Homewood-Flossmoor cruises past Lockport 54-14

Isaac Cutrara threw for a season-high five touchdowns and Devonte Harley-Hampton scored four as the Vikings bounced back from last week’s overtime loss to Bolingbrook with the big win on the road. H-F improved to 7-1 and 5-1 in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Lockport fell to 2-6, 2-4.
Tyler Johnson scored on a 30-yard run for Lockport to trim the H-F lead to 28-14 with 1:17 left in the first half. But Aaron Gooch returned the ensuing kickoff 70 yards to the Lockport 29. Two plays later, Vashon Nutt scored his second TD of the game from a yard out. After an interception by Reginald Howell, Cutrara found Harley-Hampton with a 15-yard TD pass and the Vikings took a 41-14 lead into halftime.
The Cutrara to Harley-Hampton connection. Cutrara finished 13-of-20 for 329 yards and had TD passes of 29, 15, and 41 yards to Harley-Hampton, who had five catches for 114 yards and added eight carries for 85 yards. Harley-Hampton capped the scoring with a 46-yard TD run in the third quarter.

Gooch also caught a 15-yard TD pass and had three catches for 90 yards. James Sheenan had a 4-yard TD catch to put H-F up for good at 14-7 with 8:41 left in the first quarter. Nutt had nine carries for 51 yards and opened the scoring with an 11-yard run just over a minute into the game. Johnson led Lockport with 14 carries for 158 yards and two TDs, including an 82-yard TD scamper on the Porters’ first play from scrimmage.
