Boys Basketball: Puha propels Reavis past Oak Forest 49-44

Eddie Puha erupted for 28 points — 14 of which came during a crucial three-minute spurt during the third quarter — as Reavis rallied past visiting Oak Forest on Friday in the South Suburban crossover.
Trailing 25-16 early in the third quarter, Puha buried four straight three-pointers to bring Reavis to within a point. The 6-foot-3 senior later sank four free throws in the final eight seconds to keep Reavis (5-0, 1-0) unbeaten.
Fresh off a 27-point performance on Dec. 3, Puha finished 6-of-13 from the floor for a career-high 28 points. He added five rebounds, three assists and went 11-of-12 from the charity stripe. Puha is averaging 21.4 points per game.

Jason Roland scored 14 points and had four steals for Oak Forest (3-2, 0-1). Kyle Flanagan added 11 points and eight rebounds for the Bengals, who led 16-5 after the first quarter. Joseph O’Hara chipped in 12 points for Reavis.
