Oak Forest needed several possessions to get going, but once the host Bengals (5-4, 3-0) did they ran away from Shepard (2-8, 0-3) for the South Suburban crossover victory.
It was 3-2 Oak Forest when Taylor Sterkowitz hit one of two free throws. Amy McKeown and Maddie Baxa followed with back-to-back buckets as the Bengals ended the first period up 9-2. The lead would later peak at 42-21.
On a night when just about everybody on the court struggled with their shots, Baxa was on target at 7-for-16 and totaled 18 points.

“We’ve got a new coach
(Jim Matlon), a brand new team. We’ve got some younger girls, and we’re all starting to learn how to play together. Being 3-0 in conference is really good.” — McKeown
