Boys Basketball

Morgan Park 58, Simeon 55: Josh Cunningham poured in 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lift visiting Morgan Park (6-1, 3-1) in the Public League Red-South. Kain Harris added 17 points for the Mustangs, including a basket that gave the team the lead for good at 57-55.

Argo 41, Bremen 38: Tyler Mitchell’s 23 points paced visiting Argo (1-6, 1-3) in the South Suburban crossover. Deon Jackson led Bremen (3-4, 0-4) with 14 points.

Homewood-Flossmoor 72, Joliet West 56: Tai Odiase racked up 35 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocked shots for visiting Homewood-Flossmoor (5-3, 2-1). Devon Smith added 22 points for the Vikings in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

‘Iolani Classic

Roman Catholic (Pa.) 55, St. Rita 51: Dominique Matthews had a team-high 13 points for St. Rita (4-2) in Honolulu. Charles Matthews, Myles Carter and Victor Law added 10 points apiece for the Mustangs.

Kreul Classic Elite Challenge

Deerfield Beach (Fla.) 65, De La Salle 53: Karl Harris scored 13 points for De La Salle (4-5) in Coral Springs, Fla.

Marist Tournament

Southland Prep 55, Solorio 49: Kendell Spinks scored 21 points and Dejean Kelly added 19 to lead Southland Prep (2-6).

Marist 68, Power House 30: Nic Weishar had 13 points and Ryan Tucker added 13 for Marist (7-1).

Girls Basketball

Ag. Science 50, Vocational 46: Raina Emery netted 13 points and April Baar scored 12 to propel host Ag. Science (5-7, 4-5) in the Public League Chicago South.

Richards 65, T.F. North 61 (2 OTs): Taylor Sonichsen totaled 21 points and five rebounds for host Richards (4-7, 1-3) in the South Suburban crossover. The Bulldogs also received 18 points from Sydni Tears and 12 from Carly Stazak. Tyra Johnson led T.F. North (4-3, 2-2) with 24 points and eight rebounds. Dazya Dunn (18 rebounds) and Chanel Howard tacked on 13 points apiece for the Meteors.

Rich Central 52, Kankakee 24: Cassandra Burress compiled 18 points and 10 rebounds for host Rich Central (8-4, 3-1) in the Southland.

Crete-Monee 71, Bloom 49: Marsha Howard had 25 points and Lindzy Cox added 22 for visiting Crete-Monee (9-2, 4-0) in the Southland. Arianna Dampier’s 14 points led Bloom (3-8, 1-2). Anika Johnson (13 points, 12 rebounds) and Jailyn Lumpkin (12 points, 10 assists) also starred for the Blazing Trojans.

Rich South 62, Rich East 45: Tierra Webb finished with 16 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and five steals for host Rich South (7-4, 2-1) in the Southland. Tierney Lockett chipped in 13 points for the Stars and Dasia Evans (12 rebounds) scored 11. Ashley Dennis tossed in a team-best 21 points for Rich East (6-5, 0-3).

Thornwood 49, St. Francis de Sales 42: Dominique Hill scored 12 points and Janez Winston added 10 for host Thornwood.

Girls Bowling

T.F. South 1,760, Lemont 1,708: Lemont’s Kyra Udziela led all competitors with a 244 game and 464 series at Lynwood Bowl. Quanisha Spann paced T.F. South with a 373 series in the South Suburban Blue.

Bremen 1,490, Shepard 1,250: Briana Olson (199 game) and Monica Krumrie (338 series) guided Bremen in the South Suburban crossover at Oak Forest Bowl.

Eisenhower 1,540, T.F. North 1,521: Tiffany Aguayo, of Eisenhower, paced the field with a 208 game and 354 series in the South Suburban crossover at Burr Oak Bowl.

Hillcrest 1,571, Argo 1,337: Hillcrest’s Keioni Taylor posted the top game (209) and series (379) in the South Suburban crossover at Brunswick Zone XL in Homewood.

Oak Forest 1,620, Evergreen Park 1,572: Oak Forest’s Erica Bergstrom registered meet bests with a 203 game and 380 series at Arena Lanes. Sarah Klawitter had a 372 series for Evergreen Park in the South Suburban crossover.


Lockport 58, Homewood-Flossmoor 6: Brian Rossi (113 pounds), Cameron Roat (120) and Petro Mata (170) were among those winning by fall for host Lockport in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Boys Swimming

Reavis 96, Shepard 90: Wins by Dan Tylka in the 100-yard butterfly (58.40 seconds) and Matt Blicharski in the 200 freestyle (1 minute, 55.79) sparked visiting Reavis in the South Suburban Red. Sanders Yu, of Shepard, prevailed in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.50) and 200 individual medley (2:12.94).

Men’s Basketball

St. Xavier 68, Roosevelt 63: Brad Karp posted 26 points and eight rebounds to lead visiting St. Xavier (10-2, 4-1) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Women’s Basketball

Cruzin’ Classic

St. Xavier 88, Oklahoma Baptist 74: Jordan Brandt put in 21 points and Suzie Broski (6 rebounds) scored 17 to lead St. Xavier (10-3) in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
