Eisenhower brought its frantic pace to Tinley Park and it proved to be the difference in the victory Friday night.
Leading 86-85 with 4.9 seconds to play, Calviontae Washington’s free throw put the Cardinals up two points, and the Titans’ attempt at a game-winner fell short as time expired.
Khalil Williams led Eisenhower (4-8) with 16 points. Romale Cook added 15 and Kalin Hawkins chipped in 11. Tinley Park’s Tremayne Hollis led all scorers with 22 points. Corey Doss scored 17 and Kelvin Dorsey finished with 16 for the Titans (3-6).
BY THE NUMBERS
Eisenhower shot 15-of-27 from the free-throw line. In three of its eight losses this season, Eisenhower made just 46-of-128 attempts from the line and lost those games by a combined eight points.
“(The pace) is supposed to be in our favor toward the end of the game, but we didn’t do a good job handing it tonight. I’m just glad we got the win.”
