Bolingbrook outscored Lincoln-Way East 18-5 in the second quarter to erase an 11-10 deficit and breeze to the SouthWest Suburban Blue victory. The Raiders played without forward Josh Dilllingham, who had started every previous game, and guard Brodric Thomas, a top reserve, both of whom suffered ankle dings at practice Thursday.
Bolingbrook (10-2, 4-0) went on an 11-0 run beginning in the final minute of the first quarter and stretched it into a 20-3 explosion to take a 28-16 halftime lead. East (3-10, 0-4) never got closer than eight points the rest of the way.
The Raiders’ Prentiss Nixon scored 11 points in the second quarter, 15 in the first half and led all scorers with 19 points. He also contributed nine rebounds, five steals and four assists.
BY THE NUMBERS
Gage Davis chipped in with 13 points for Bolingbrook, including seven in the third quarter. Jackson Bax scored all of his 13 points in the second half for the Griffins.
“Bolingbrook obviously is talented but they’re also well coached. This Bolingbrook team is unselfish and distributes the ball well. They exert pressure and they’re patient when they need to be.” — Lincoln-Way East coach Rich Kolimas
