1. Lincoln-Way East’s clutch slipping. The Griffins twice in the last couple of weeks have lost nailbiters by two, to Lincoln-Way North and Bolingbrook, with just a couple of seconds remaining. That being said, senior Kara Krolicki is doing a nice job of leading East (11-3) during a season in which not a lot was expected. The Griffins get another shot at Bolingbrook on Feb. 4.
2. Molly Franson is feeling fine. Franson, who did not play in December after reaggravating her surgically repaired left knee, returned to the lineup Wednesday for Andrew and made an immediate impact. The 6-foot-2 senior scored 20 points as Andrew continued its midseason surge with a 55-40 win over Tinley Park. Two nights later she contributed six points, as the Thunderbolts won again to improve to 6-8.
3. Reavis is rocking. These are pretty exciting days for Rams, who rode a layup by Natalie Dudek with 11 seconds left to a 35-33 victory over T.F. North. The win left Reavis at 9-8 – no small feat considering that over the previous five seasons the Rams had won just eight, six, six, five and four games.
