Boys Basketball: Lincoln-Way West stings Andrew

Hayden Witt scored a game-high 22 points and added eight rebounds as Lincoln-Way West pulled away for the SouthWest Suburban Red win in New Lenox. The Warriors (9-4, 3-2) established a school record for most victories in a season. Andrew lost its ninth straight to fall to 3-10, 0-5.
Trailing 37-32 midway through the third quarter, the Warriors went on a 19-2 blitz to lead 51-39 with 3:43 left in the game. Jon Marotta scored eight of his 12 points in the game-changing burst.
Witt. The senior forward scored the Warriors’ first 11 points of the game and had 18 points in the first half.

Freshman forward Marco Pettinato added 13 points and eight rebounds for Lincoln-Way West, which hit 22-of-26 free throws and had a 40-24 rebounding advantage, which included an 18-3 margin in the fourth quarter. Luke Hook led Andrew with 10 points and Jarvion Franklin, Gino Karopulos and Jacob Platt all added nine points.
