THE SKINNY

Providence coach Tim Trendel said the Celtics are turning a corner. Friday night against Seton, Trendel’s team turned on a rout. Jack Brody scored 13 points as 15 Celtics reached the scoresheet in the Catholic League South game.

TURNING POINT

Miles Boykin had a steal and two-handed jam as Providence (8-8, 2-4) smacked Seton (4-11, 0-4) with a pair of second-quarter surges — 15-5 and 8-0 — to take a 21-point halftime lead.

THE STARS

Mitch Vander Wey (11 points) and Tyler Pygon (10 points) joined Brody in double figures. Boykin registered eight points, eight rebounds and three blocks.

BY THE NUMBERS

Providence buried six three-pointers in the first half and never trailed, netting 18 assists on 28 field goals. Christopher Seaton scored 13 points and Dylan Snyder added 10 for Seton.

QUOTABLE

“We were working on all cylinders. Everyone was screening for each other to get people open. Our team has a lot of cohesiveness, so we’re good at passing and sharing the ball.” — Pygon
