Illinois Lutheran 53, Beecher 47: Collin Borns tossed in a game-best 24 points and Mack Newson scored 21 to lift visiting Illinois Lutheran (8-3, 4-2) in the River Valley. Marshall Landis paced Beecher (4-13, 1-5) with 13 points and Garrett Short had 11.
Marian Catholic 60, Carmel 26: Ashton Millender put in 18 points and Jerell Matthews scored 14 to power host Marian Catholic (16-4, 4-0) in the East Suburban Catholic.
Tinley Park 1,577, Stagg 1,301: Tinley Park’s Emily Plummer led all competitors with a 181 game and 347 series at Palos Lanes.
Lincoln-Way East 1,690, Crete-Monee 1,196: Michelle Rybarczyk registered a 213 game and 415 series to power Lincoln-Way East at Lakewood Bowl.
Lincoln-Way co-op 137.400, Andrew 84.050: Maggie Schultz won first place on the vault (9.300) and balance beam (9.150) for Lincoln-Way co-op in the SouthWest Suburban meet at Lincoln-Way East.
Sandburg/Stagg co-op 131.850, Homewood-Flossmoor 125.200: Anna Grilich (34.950) captured the all-around title in guiding visiting Sandburg/Stagg co-op in the SouthWest Suburban dual.
St. Xavier 71, Calumet 55: Brad Karp had 27 points and nine rebounds in helping host St. Xavier (19-2, 9-1) extend its winning streak to 15. Michael Simpson added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Trinity Christian 84, Purdue-Calumet 70: Jake VanDenBerg racked up 31 points and five rebounds for visiting Trinity Christian (6-15, 2-8) in the CCAC. Jared Jones (6 rebounds) added 21 points for the Trolls and Joe Hehir threw in 17.
St. Francis 86, Judson 76 (OT): Chris Miller scored 22 points and Edvinas Presniakovas had 14 to spur visiting St. Francis (9-11, 6-4) in CCAC play. Mark Peters added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Saints.
Joliet Junior College 69, Wright 60: Justin Scanlan provided 21 points and five rebounds to steer host Joliet Junior College (15-6, 5-0) in Region IV. Deiondre Cunningham (16 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists) and Zoran Arsenovic (12 points, 5 assists) also starred for the Wolves.
St. Xavier 91, Calumet 61: Morgan Stuut totaled 27 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and four steals in sparking host St. Xavier (18-3, 8-1) to its 13th consecutive win. Niara Harris added 14 points for the Cougars, while Maloree Johnson (8 assists) and Suzie Broski both scored 11 in the CCAC game.
Purdue-Calumet 71, Trinity Christian 41: Caitlin Cody posted team highs with 13 points and nine rebounds for host Trinity Christian (6-15, 2-8). Erynn Schuh tacked on 10 points and five rebounds for the Trolls in the CCAC.
St. Francis 67, Judson 61: Katie Gonnering finished with 24 points and seven rebounds to boost visiting St. Francis (6-16, 4-5) in the CCAC. Cydney Weisflog chipped in 20 points for the Saints, while Marissa Draper collected 16 points and eight rebounds.
SXU to enshrine five: St. Xavier will hold its 2014 Hall of Fame Awards and Induction ceremony on Feb. 1 in the Butler Reception Room on the Chicago campus, 3700 W. 103rd St. The event begins with a social hour from 6 p.m.-7 p.m., followed by dinner and the ceremony. The five individuals scheduled for induction are Mike Dooley (baseball coach), Luke Gregerson (baseball), Lissa Coby (women’s soccer), Traci Looby (volleyball) and Chris Rodgers (football).
