Bloom 58, Rich Central 37

THE SKINNY

With wide-bodied post James Coleman out on a football recruiting trip, Jamal Parks made the most of his first start of the season. Parks chipped in 13 points and seven rebounds as Bloom (12-6, 5-0) remained unbeaten in the Southland Conference.

TURNING POINT

With Bloom holding a 27-23 lead at the break, Jared Johnson and Mickhiell Harris sparked a 13-2 scoring surge to open the third quarter. The Blazing Trojans never looked back.

THE STARS

Harris scored a game-high 15 points, while Johnson had 14 points and nine assists. Johnson, working out of the high post, scored or assisted on Bloom’s first 18 points of the contest.

BY THE NUMBERS

Zerell Jackson had 10 points and four steals for Bloom. William Berry and freshman Glen Abram scored 10 apiece for Rich Central (5-13, 1-5).

QUOTABLE

“I feel I did a good job replacing our star big man. I did whatever I had to do and kept straight. It was fun. I was just trying to focus, get rebounds, catch the ball and finish.” — Parks
