Boys Basketball

Oak Forest 57, Peotone 38: Tom Shute and Jason Roland netted 15 points each for host Oak Forest (17-3).

Lincoln-Way West 56, Thornridge 50: Hayden Witt had 24 points and six rebounds to lead host Lincoln-Way West (10-7, 4-4). Jon Marotta added 12 points and six rebounds for the Warriors in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Evergreen Park 62, Ag. Science 45: Tony Weathersby’s 20 points carried host Evergreen Park (10-10).

Andrew 51, Lincoln-Way North 47: Joey Krutilla (5 steals) and Jarvion Franklin (5 steals) posted 15 points apiece for visiting Andrew (4-14, 1-7) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. J.T. Limon garnered 15 points for Lincoln-Way North (3-15, 1-7) and Ben Coverick scored 10.

Sandburg 62, Lincoln-Way East 52: Niko Kogionis netted 19 points and Niko Cahue had 16 for visiting Sandburg (7-12, 3-5) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Lincoln-Way East dropped to 6-13, 1-7.

Argo 48, Oak Lawn 38: Tyler Mitchell had 20 points to aid host Argo (8-12, 5-5) in the South Suburban Red.

Bremen 54, Comer 42: Deon Jackson totaled 14 points and five assists for visiting Bremen (6-12).

Joliet West 54, Lockport 50: Grover Anderson provided 10 points for host Lockport (10-10, 4-4) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Coal City 64, Beecher 52: Kyle Jacobson scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds for host Beecher (4-15).

St. Francis 54, Chicago Christian 39: Trevor Wolterink netted a team-best 15 points for visiting Chicago Christian (7-12) in the Suburban Christian crossover. Jay Spencer added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Knights.

St. Laurence 62, Shepard 56: Matt Gurgone and Rich Lamb posted 13 points apiece for St. Laurence (4-15) in Burbank. Jacob Littleton, of Shepard (8-12), paced all scorers with 25 points.

Hinsdale South 83, Eisenhower 78 (OT): Vinny Curta had 28 points and Calviontae Washington added 20 for visiting Eisenhower (8-15).

Girls Basketball

Lockport 41, Stagg 40: Naomi Mayes’ three-point play with eight seconds remaining made the difference for visiting Lockport (9-12, 4-7) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Mayes wound up with 14 points to lead the Porters, while Casey McMahon paced Stagg (9-12, 3-8) with 17 points.

Lincoln-Way West 46, Thornton 36: Stephanie McDonald scored 12 points and Danielle Morgan 11 to spark host Lincoln-Way West (14-7, 6-4) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Lincoln-Way East 51, Bolingbrook 39: Kara Krolicki had 31 points and Claire McMahon 12 to propel visiting Lincoln-Way East (17-4, 8-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Hillcrest 67, T.F. North 27: Tanzania Sherrill’s 17 points boosted visiting Hillcrest (17-5, 10-0). Sherrise Heady chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Hawks in the South Suburban Blue. Tyra Johnson posted eight points for T.F. North (7-11, 4-7).

Homewood-Flossmoor 77, Joliet Central 20: Gabby Sanders totaled 12 points and 11 rebounds to pace visiting Homewood-Flossmoor (18-2, 11-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Eva Rubin also had 12 points for the Vikings and Ashley Johnson scored nine.

Morgan Park Academy 47, Heritage Christian 32: Bhy Williams scored 17 points and Gabby Ogbevire added 16 to lead host Morgan Park Academy (11-10).

Andrew 54, Thornwood 40: Georgia Alexakos had 22 points and Michelle Borgen added 18 for visiting Andrew (13-9, 7-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Janeah Stewart (12 points) and Dominique Hill (11) led Thornwood.

Bishop McNamara 61, Providence 44: Alyssa Jurges netted 17 points to lead visiting Providence (15-12, 3-4) in the East Suburban Catholic.

Sandburg 42, Joliet West 30: Sam Youngwirth chalked up 13 points and Victoria Stavropoulos had 12 for host Sandburg (15-10, 6-5) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Richards 47, Evergreen Park 40: Sydni Tears had 15 points and Taylor Sonichsen 11 to key host Richards (9-11, 3-7) in the South Suburban Red. Megan Pfister tossed in a game-high 16 points for Evergreen Park (12-12, 3-7).

Argo 55, Eisenhower 37: Sharnita Breeze posted 16 points for visiting Argo (9-13, 3-8). Amy Kinney and Sabrina Williams added 10 points each for the Argonauts in the South Suburban Red. Malika Johnson had 17 points to lead Eisenhower (5-14).

Lemont 49, Bremen 33: Marissa Dyer scored 14 points to lift host Lemont (12-11, 6-5) in the South Suburban Blue.

Peotone 39, Oak Forest 34: Taylor Sterkowitz (17 points) and Maddie Baxa (9) led the way for host Oak Forest (10-12).

Beecher 59, Grant Park 33: Taylor Johnson notched 20 points as visiting Beecher (18-5, 11-0) captured the River Valley title.

T.F. South 70, Tinley Park 43: Ninah Bertrand totaled 27 points, five rebounds and five assists to spark host T.F. South (18-4, 9-1). Ren’Cia Rolling chipped in 21 points for the Rebels. Sam Alberto had nine points for Tinley Park (11-14, 5-6).

Illiana Christian 48, Timothy Christian 36: Gabby Kreykes registered 22 points and seven steals to power visiting Illiana Christian (9-15, 4-7) in the Metro Suburban.

Public League Playoffs

Morgan Park 69, Kenwood 62: Shami Goodman finished with 19 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists to lift Morgan Park (18-3) in the quarterfinal at Robeson. Tammy Russell added a team-best 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Mustangs.

Girls Gymnastics

Neuqua Valley Regional: Lockport’s Kacie Kenney advanced to the state meet after placing fourth in the all-around competition (34.625). Kenney also qualified on the vault (9.225), balance beam (8.850) and uneven parallel bars (8.250). Sandburg/Stagg co-op (123.275) finished fourth and also produced a state qualifier in Hannah Mussallem, who was second on the vault (9.275).
