Boys Basketball: Leo bows to Fenwick

Fenwick used a 35-19 rebounding edge to control the game and defeat host Leo in the Catholic League North. The Friars had 15 offensive rebounds to Leo’s 19 total boards. The Friars also forced Leo into 15 turnovers.
Fenwick used a 12-2 spurt at the end of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth quarter to build their lead to 52-40 with 6:02 remaining in the game. Leo got no closer than 10 points the rest of the way.
Fenwick’s Dan Dwyer scored 14 points and had 12 rebounds, while teammate Tom Planek added 14 points and 10 rebounds.
BY THE NUMBERS
Leo’s Darias Oliver led all scorers with 26 points, scoring all 16 of Leo’s points in the second quarter. He was limited to two points in the third and fourth quarters. The Lions’ Darius Branch added 12 points. Mike Smith had 17 points for Fenwick and Scott Lindsey added 10.
