Bremen 50, Jones 47: Jeremiah Wilson and Chrisean Noble scored 13 points for visiting Bremen (9-14).
Benet 72, Joliet Catholic 46: Harold Davis poured in 18 points and Jalen Jackson netted 11 to pace visiting Joliet Catholic (8-18, 0-7) in the East Suburban Catholic.
Chicago Christian 71, Guerin 57: Trevor Wolterink scored 22 points and Blaine Wright tacked on 16 to show the way for host Chicago Christian (8-16, 2-8) in the Suburban Christian Gold.
Bloom 53, Homewood-Flossmoor 41: Mickhiell Harris dropped in 18 points to steer host Bloom (16-8). Dorian McCraney chalked up 16 points for Homewood-Flossmoor (12-11).
Catholic League Tournament
Gordon Tech 42, Brother Rice 40: Ray Rubio garnered 16 points and Quinn Niego added 14 to guide Brother Rice (13-13) in the lower bracket championship at the University of Chicago.
East Aurora Shootout
Waubonsie Valley 47, Lemont 43: Luis Marquez (12 points) was the top scorer for Lemont (13-12).
Boys Indoor Track & Field
Thornwood Invitational: Dwight Johnson prevailed in the 50-yard dash (5.52 seconds) and 300 dash (33.76) as Thornwood (182 points) captured first place in the five-team field. Khalil Lightbourne added wins in the 440 (57.65) and 600 run (1 minute, 22.99 seconds) for the Thunderbirds. Darshon McCullough was tops in the triple jump (40 feet) in helping Marist (49) place third, one spot behind Joliet Central (56).
Girls Indoor Track & Field
Wheaton North Invitational: Wins by Emma Griffiths in the 400-meter dash (1:03) and Kirsten Schultz in the 2-mile run (14:03) guided Providence (94) to a second-place finish behind Wheaton North (114) in the six-team meet.
Bloom Invitational: Gina Narcisi won the mile run (6:01.18) in sparking Bloom (112) to the championship. North Lawndale (68) was second and T.F. North (57) third in the 10-team meet. Skye McNutt added a victory in the high jump (4 feet, 2 inches) for the Blazing Trojans and Kyma Peoples Johnson took first in the shot put (31-10½). T.F. North’s Emani James won the triple jump (35-0) and Morgan Park had the top time in the 2-mile relay (12:31.66) thanks to contributions from Takeisha Freeman, Regine Hoover, Mekah Jordan and Tahja Shabazz.
South Suburban 86, Midwest Prep 65: Antonio Levy put in 26 points and dished out four assists to vault host South Suburban (25-5) in its regular-season finale.
Lewis 84, McKendree 73: Julian Lewis dropped in 16 points and secured 12 rebounds for host Lewis (21-4, 13-4) in the Great Lakes Valley East. Ryan Jackson led the Flyers with 24 points, while reserve Brad Foster added 12 points and five rebounds.
Joliet Junior College 74, College of DuPage 63: Leon Gray posted 20 points and Zoran Aresnovic netted 16 to key host Joliet Junior College (20-10, 10-4) in Region IV.
Trinity International 77, St. Francis 75: Sam Salem’s 25-footer at the buzzer lifted host Trinity (5-25, 3-16) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Jo Jo Ballestero scored a team-high 21 points for St. Francis (15-14, 12-7).
St. Francis 3-5, Madonna 1-4: Pinch-runner Cody Columbus scored on a throwing error in the top of the seventh to snap a 4-all tie and give visiting St. Francis (5-3) both ends of the doubleheader. The Saints took the opener behind Adam Panayotovich (1-0), who allowed one earned run on six hits in pitching a complete game. Joe Ruge’s two-run single capped a three-run third for the winners.
Georgetown (Ky.) 3-7, St. Xavier 1-0: Scott Vachon tossed a three-hitter and struck out six for St. Xavier in its season opener. The Cougars’ run came on a bases-loaded walk to Tom Hayes that brought home Chris Klein in the top of the seventh. Casey Papp’s double was one of four hits for St. Xavier in the nightcap.
Men’s Indoor Track & Field
University of Chicago Invitational: Abel Hernandez won the 5,000-meter run (15:39.23) and Janis Pastars was second in the 1,000 meters (2:35.65) in helping St. Xavier (39) finish sixth. Aurora (129) captured first place in the 12-team meet.
Hillsdale Tune-Up: Wins by Adam Barr in the weight throw (59-8½) and Brock Massie in the triple jump (46-11) were among the highlights for Lewis in the nonscoring meet.
Lews 75, McKendree 63: Jamie Johnson had 19 points and five assists and Mariyah Brawner-Henley added 14 points and 13 rebounds to ignite host Lewis (21-4, 15-2) in the Great Lakes Valley East. Jess Reinhart tacked on 13 points and six rebounds for the Flyers.
St. Francis 76, Trinity International 57: Katie Gonnering contributed 21 points and eight rebounds to spur visiting St. Francis (8-22, 6-11) in the CCAC. Leah Avery chipped in 15 points and seven rebounds for the Saints.
Grand Valley State 2, Lewis 1: Tori Hanford scored on Brittany Russell’s squeeze bunt to aid visiting Lewis (0-2) in Game 2. Lainie Schweickert gave up six hits and struck out seven in going the distance for the Flyers in their second game of the day at The Dome At The Ballpark in Rosemont.
Wayne State 3, Lewis 0: Kelly Bowler surrendered five hits and struck out seven in pitching a complete game for Lewis in its season opener. Ali Brems’ first-inning single was the Flyers’ only hit of the contest.
Women’s Indoor Track & Field
Hillsdale Tune-Up: Megan Marchildon prevailed in the 60-meter hurdles (8.74) to boost Lewis in the nonscoring meet. The Flyers also received wins from Chantel Stennis in the 200 (23.35), Amy Polhemus in the 400 (58.48) and Amanda Farrough in the mile run (5:59.89).
