Illiana Christian defeated Fenger 70-60 in a Class 2A Carver Regional semifinal Thursday night.
The Vikings (17-10) advance to face host Carver on Friday night for the regional title.
Against Fenger, Caleb Jonkman led the way for the Vikings by scoring 13 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter. Jonkman was clutch down the stretch for Illiana, which trailed 48-42 with 5:14 remaining.

The Vikings bounced back, outscoring Fenger 28-12 over the game’s final five minutes. Illiana turned up the defensive intensity in the fourth quarter.
“We changed things up in the fourth quarter and pressed the basketball,” Illiana coach Tom Roozeboom said. “We got into them at halftime and I told them I didn’t believe they wanted to win the game.”
Jonkman converted all nine of his free-throw attempts in the final period. Zack Pruim scored 13 points and hit a big three-pointer in the closing minutes for the Vikings.
Elontae Davis led the Titans with 26 points, while Keiquan Mitchell scored 16.
Fenger controlled most the game, but turnovers and ill-advised shots plagued them late.
“We started rushing passes and gave the game away,” Fenger coach Romian Crockett said. “There was nothing we haven’t seen before, but we gave it away with turnovers and ill-advised shots.”
Illiana Christian made 13-of-14 free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter to seal the game. Fenger was outrebounded 34-23 and committed 22 turnovers.
