THE SKINNY

Homewood-Flossmoor celebrated the IHSA’s recent ruling by winning its regular-season finale Friday in Flossmoor. H-F is 15-11 overall and finished 10-2 in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Lincoln-Way East ends the regular season 8-20, 1-11.

TURNING POINT

Tuesday, the IHSA placed the Vikings on probation instead of suspension for one calendar year for violating state bylaws. H-F is eligible to participate in any IHSA regular season or state series event.

Three different Vikings scored double figures, led by Tai Odiase’s 19.

H-F led 27-8 after a quarter, 40-20 at halftime and 51-35 after three quarters. All but two of the Vikings’ eight seniors scored. Lincoln-Way East had just three made baskets in the first quarter. H-F took a 22-5 lead late in the first quarter. Lincoln-Way East was as close as nine points twice in the fourth quarter.

“It was Senior Night, and the seniors really played a great first quarter. It was a fun night.” – H-F coach James McLaughlin
