Boys Water Polo

St. Viator 6, De La Salle 5: Roberto Rodriguez netted four goals to lead host De La Salle (1-1, 1-1) in the Metro Catholic Aquatics Conference.

Palatine Invitational

St. Ignatius 16, Homewood-Flossmoor 9: Haden Santefort had four goals and Broc Thompson scored three to boost Homewood-Flossmoor (1-1).

Stagg Invitational

Stagg 8, St. Rita 6: Hat tricks by Nick Amendola and Evan Johnson vaulted Stagg (1-2). Matt Lopez scored twice for St. Rita (0-4), which had lost earlier to Oak Park-River Forest, 11-8.

St. Charles North 9, Stagg 7: Harlan Long had three goals for Stagg in its opening match.

Girls Indoor Track & Field

York Invitational: Mother McAuley’s Briana Driver won the 200-meter dash (26.60 seconds) and long jump (17 feet, 7½ inches). The Mighty Macs (25 points) finished fifth in the meet won by Glenbard West (112.5).

College Baseball

South Suburban 5, Wharton 4: Stephen Letz belted a home run to aid visiting South Suburban (3-4).

RussMatt Invitational

St. Xavier 12, Aquinas (Mich.) 7: Casey Papp’s two-run single in the top of the seventh highlighted a six-run outburst for St. Xavier (4-10) in its second contest of the day in Lakeland, Fla. Tom Keating (2-for-4) had three RBI for the Cougars, while Chris Klein (4-for-5) and Jim Augle (3-for-4) each had two runs and an RBI.

St. Ambrose 10, St. Xavier 6: Bryan Polak slammed a two-run double and finished with three RBI to pace St. Xavier in the morning session.

Trinity International 4-5, Trinity Christian 3-11: Danny Britt had six hits and six RBI to steer Trinity Christian (5-8) in Lakeland, Fla. Joe McCaw added four RBI in Game 2 for the Trolls.

Men’s Tennis

Missouri-St. Louis 5, Lewis 4: Armand Levandi and Erik Aunapuu won at No. 1 doubles for visiting Lewis (2-6). Mate Srdanovic and Phillip Kuenzi added a victory at No. 2 doubles for the Flyers.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field

NCAA Division II Championships: Lewis’ Andrew McLain captured All-America honors for the second straight year after finishing eighth in the 5,000-meter run (14 minutes, 22.80 seconds) in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Men’s Volleyball

St. Xavier 25-25-25-25, Siena Heights 20-27-19-11: Justin Cousin (6 digs) recorded 16 kills and Moises Lopez (9 digs) had 42 assists for host St. Xavier (5-12, 5-4). Sam Kull chipped in 11 kills and 10 blocks for the Cougars in the Great Lakes Division of the Mid-America Men’s Volleyball Intercollegiate Association.

Lewis 25-29-25, George Mason 13-27-17: Scott Fifer had 33 assists and Eric Fitterer 13 kills to vault host Lewis (14-4).

Women’s Basketball

NCAA Division II Tournament

Lewis 69, Missouri-St. Louis 64: Jess Reinhart scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds to propel Lewis (23-5) in the first-round Midwest Regional game in Springfield, Mo. Jamie Johnson added 19 points and five rebounds for the Flyers, who also received 10 points each from Mariyah Brawner-Henley (7 rebounds) and Nikki Nellen.

College Softball

National Training Center Games

St. Xavier 2-5, Spring Arbor 0-1: Nicole Nonnemacher notched an RBI single and also struck out 13 in pitching a perfect game for St. Xavier (12-2) in the seven-inning opener in Clermont, Fla. Kasey Kanaga (3-for-4, run), Shannon Lauret (2-for-4, 2 runs), Savannah Kinsella and Ariel Hinton stroked run-scoring singles for the Cougars in Game 2. Megan Nonnemacher (5-1) tossed a three-hitter and fanned nine for the winners.

Women’s Swimming

NCAA Division II Championships: Lewis’ Sarah Kenis was 14th in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.75) in Geneva, Ohio. She became the first Flyer in six years to score points for the team in the national meet.

Women’s Tennis

Lewis 6, Missouri-St. Louis 3: Zsofia Lanstiak (No. 1) and Zsofia Kranczicki (No. 2) won their respective singles matches and also teamed for a victory at No. 1 doubles to power visiting Lewis (5-3).
