Reavis 6, Chicago Christian 5, 8 inn: Jorge Hernandez tossed three innings without allowing a run, striking out five and walking one to earn the win for the Rams (1-1). Lael Robles hit a triple and scored the game-winning run in the eighth.
Eisenhower d. Argo 25-18, 25-12: The host Cardinals (1-0) got three kills and three blocks from Robert McCoy as they rolled past the Argonauts (0-1) in both teams’ season opener.
Lemont d. Hinsdale South 21-25, 25-21, 25-23: Duhan Dominik (12 kills) and Edward Kostrubala (8 kills) helped the Indians (1-0) edge the visiting Hornets (0-1). Adam Strube contributed 16 assists for Lemont.
Lincoln-Way Central 0, Marist 0: Erin Doody registered her first shutout of the season for the Knights (0-1-1).
Marian Catholic 2, Stagg 0: Adriana Garcia assisted on goals by Hailey Losselyong and Renae Malone for the host Spartans (3-1). Sarah Sieracki made five saves for Marian Catholic.
Girls Water Polo
Hinsdale Central 9, Lockport 1: Ashley O’Neill had a goal for the visiting Porters.
Reavis 14, Oak Forest 1: Stephanie Cardenas and Anna Wypych won at No. 1 doubles for the host Rams. Cardenas (No. 2) and Wypych (No. 4) also won their singles matches.
Men’s College Golf
Butler Spring Invitational: David Keenan fired a 1-over 75 to pace Chicago State in the first round of the Butler Spring Invitational in Avon, Ind. Keenan is tied for 11th place in the five-team field. Junior Dan Patkunas shot a 77 and is tied for 16th place. The Cougars (311) head into Tuesday’s final round in fifth, 20 shots off the lead.
Women’s College Golf
Butler Spring Invitational: Chicago State is in a tie for second place, one shot behind the host Bulldogs, after shooting a 314 in the first round of the Butler Spring Invite in Avon, Ind. Freshman Fernanda Valdes Solis led the way with a 77, good for seventh place in the 53-golfer field. Senior Jessica Peatross (78) is tied for eighth and sophomore Lorelle Weavers (79) is tied for 12th.
