Baseball

Bremen 10, Thornwood 0: Mike Fuentes pitched six innings, allowing one hit while striking out six, for Bremen (2-0). Sean Grant (3-for-4, 3 RBI) led the Braves at the plate.

Brother Rice 2, Huntley 0: Ryan Kutt (2-0) pitched five shutout innings to guide Brother Rice (5-1). Kevin Biondic hit a home run and pitched two innings of relief to earn the save.

Mundelein 4, Lockport 1: Rusty Hoh went 1-for-3 and scored on Ryan Dalton’s sac fly as Lockport (2-2) lost its final game at the Southern Illinois Miners Showcase in Marion.

St. Laurence 12, Ponoma (Colo.) 0: Brad Wood (1-for-2, RBI) had 13 strikeouts over five innings and allowed one hit to propel St. Laurence (4-0) to victory in Tucson, Ariz. Mike Kornacker (2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI) and Kevin White (2-for-3, RBI) contributed for the Vikings.

St. Rita 7, Morgan Park 6: Jake Shepski hit a two-run home run and pitched one inning, striking out two and recording a save. Shane Peisker also launched a two-run home run for St. Rita (4-0).

Girls Soccer

Bremen 3, Oak Lawn 1: Anna Smith, Paulina Gallardo and Elva Chavez all scored a goal for Bremen.

Providence 2, Lincoln-Way East 1: Regan Flaherty scored two goals to lift Providence (3-2) to victory. Sadie Land and Kyleigh Maday each recorded assists for the Celtics.

Boys Water Polo

De La Salle 9, Brother Rice 5: Robert Rodriguez poured in four goals to lead De La Salle (4-2).

Badminton

Lincoln-Way Central 8, Sandburg 7: Lincoln-Way Central earned a victory behind Jana Mudrock’s victory in No. 1 singles.

Lincoln-Way North 9, Stagg 6: Celia Stoll and Kayla Jagiello prevailed at No. 1 doubles to vault host Lincoln-Way North (1-6) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Morton 13, Argo 2: Karolina Nieckarz posted a win at No. 1 singles for visiting Argo (0-4).

Men’s College Volleyball

Lakeland 25-25-25-25, St. Xavier 16-22-27-18: Justin Cousin totaled 13 kills and 11 digs to guide visiting Lewis (5-14). Moises Lopez added 31 assists for the Cougars and Sam Kull had 11 kills.
