Baseball

Oak Forest 8, Manteno 3: Jimmy Christian allowed two earned runs on four hits and struck out seven in a complete-game victory. Drew Dominik (2-for-3) drove in three runs for Oak Forest (5-1).

Softball

De La Salle 4, Young 2: Katie Krol struck out five over seven innings and Ashley Trendle had a two-run double to lift De La Salle (4-0).

Girls Soccer

Stagg 1, Reavis 0: Kellie Senese scored off an assist from Hannah Yandel for Stagg (1-2-1).

Boys Volleyball

Marian Catholic d. St. Joseph 25-10, 25-11: Marian Catholic (2-6) was led Cameron Green (5 kills), Zak Piekarski (3 kills, 3 digs, 16 assists) and Liam Fagan (3 aces, 12 digs).

Brother Rice claims two: Brother Rice finished 2-0 in pool play at the Wheaton Warrenville South Tournament. Dave Kelly and Spencer Scott each recorded five kills to lead the Crusaders (8-0) to a 25-11, 25-18 victory over Marist. In the Brother Rice’s 25-17, 25-11 victory over Hilliard Darby (Ohio), Mitch Weiler had seven kills and Jim Dwyer 19 assists.

Lincoln-Way East wins two, too: Lincoln-Way East earned a 25-17, 25-21 victory over Naperville North and 25-17, 25-13 win over De Smet (Mo.) during pool play at the Wheaton Warrenville South Tournament. Ryan Vorderer had 14 kills between the two matches and Austin Royer compiled 26 assists.

Boys Water Polo

Homewood-Flossmoor 13, Young 10: Homewood-Flossmoor improved to 5-6 behind Broc Thompson’s seven goals.

College Baseball

St. Xavier 12, Trinity International 2: Alec Barnhart went 3-for-5 with a home run, double and two RBI and three runs to lead St. Xavier (9-15, 4-2 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference) in the seven-inning game. Wining pitcher Scott Vachon (2-3) pitched seven innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on eight hits with nine strikeouts.

South Suburban 11, North Central 8: Joshua Pieper (2-for-3) led South Suburban with a homer, three RBI and three runs. Dominic Albanese, Cody Moskovsky and Jordan Davis each drove in two runs for the Bulldogs.

College Softball

St. Xavier 3-3, Calumet 4-2: St. Xavier dropped the first game when Calumet College of St. Joseph connected on a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh. Megan Nonnemacher won her eighth game of the year in the nightcap. She went the distance, giving up four hits and striking out 10. Nicole Nonnemacher had the game-winning, two-run single for St. Xavier (17-3, 3-1 CCAC) in the top of the ninth.

Men’s College Volleyball

Lewis d. Quincy 24-14, 25-13, 25-11: Lewis swept Quincy at Neil Carey Arena to capture the season series. Geoff Powell led the Flyers (18-6, 8-3 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) with 10 kills and two aces while Greg Petty added eight kills, four aces and four blocks.

Men’s College Tennis

Lewis 5, Illinois Springfield 4: Lewis got victories at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 singles from Armand Levandi, Mate Srdanovic and Erik Aunapuu, respectively. Srdanovic and Aunapuu also earned a victory at No. 1 doubles, while Levandi teamed with Philip Kuenzi to win at No. 2 doubles.

Women’s College Tennis

Lewis 9, Illinois Springfield 0: Lewis dropped just three games total in a Great Lakes Valley victory at Washington Park in Springfield. Zsofia Kranczicki and Zsofia Lanstiak won at No. 1 doubles, Kranczicki at No. 1 singles and Lanstiak at No. 2 singles.

Men’s College Track

Dorenkamper takes second in 400 hurdles: Junior Kevin Dorenkamper finished second in the 400 hurdles (54.41) to lead Lewis at the Bellarmine Invitational at Owsley Frazier Stadium in Louisville, Ky.

Women’s College Track

Bonsor, Priesler pace Lewis: Kristen Bonsor won the 5,000-meter run (17:11.91) and Rebecca Priesler was victorious in the pole vault (11-9¾) to lead Lewis at the Bellarmine Invitational. Amanda Farrough added a victory in the 800 (2:17.6) .
