Providence 11, St. Joseph 1: Cam Galgano (2-for-3, 2 runs) posted three RBI and Erik Dubek (3-hitter, 9 strikeouts) went the distance to aid host Providence (9-4, 1-0) in the five-inning Catholic League crossover.

Lemont 5, Bremen 1: Charlie Wright and Nate Broskovetz combined on a three-hitter for visiting Lemont (9-0, 3-0) in the South Suburban Blue. Mike Wisz (2-for-3), Mike Papierski and Matt Monaco each contributed a run and an RBI for the Indians. Sean Grant doubled and scored for Bremen.

St. Laurence 15, Fenwick 0: John Riordan (3-for-3, 3 RBI) and Rob Gutierrez slammed two-run homers to pace host St. Laurence (13-1, 2-0) in the five-inning Catholic League crossover. Frank Greco (4 innings) and Zack Erdman surrendered two hits apiece for the Vikings.

Brother Rice 6, Bishop McNamara 4: Andrew Dyke (2-for-3, run) garnered two RBI and Mike Massey (3-for-3, RBI) scored two runs to power host Brother Rice (13-3, 2-0) in the Catholic League crossover.

Lincoln-Way North 22, Thornton 1: Connor Grove (2-run HR) and Josh Mutter each racked up two runs and three RBI for host Lincoln-Way North (7-1). Collin Raslavicz (2-for-2) added three runs and two RBI for the Phoenix in the five-inning SouthWest Suburban Red game.

Lockport 5, Bolingbrook 0: Noah Massa fanned 10 in pitching a no-hitter for host Lockport (6-8, 1-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Jeremy Quade (2-for-4), Mike Formella and Ben Wishba tacked on RBI for the Porters.

Mount Carmel 9, St. Ignatius 1: Greg Ploszaj (2-for-3, 2 runs) contributed a two-run triple and four RBI to carry host Mount Carmel (9-2, 1-0) in the Catholic League crossover. Nelson Munoz gave up one hit in pitching a complete game for the Caravan.

Lincoln-Way West 9, Andrew 0: Zach Speaker’s three-run double capped a six-run outburst in the fourth inning for host Lincoln-Way West (10-0, 1-0). Dylan Eller (6 innings) and Trevor Dallio combined on a four-hitter for the Warriors in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

St. Rita 7, Gordon Tech 0: Jake Shepski (2-0), Tyler Halas and Sean Jaycox teamed up on a no-hitter to ignite host St. Rita (17-0, 2-0) in the Catholic League crossover. Danny Gleaves (2-for-2, 2 runs, RBI) was among the standouts offensively for the Mustangs.

Stagg 14, Joliet Central 4: Brett Stratinsky doubled and posted four RBI to show the way for visiting Stagg (4-8) in its SouthWest Suburban Blue opener. Mike Bibbiano (3-for-4) and Drew Bolero (2-for-4) both added two runs and two RBI for the Chargers.

Riverside-Brookfield 4, Illiana Christian 1: Caleb Jonkman (2-for-3) singled and scored for host Illiana Christian (3-5, 2-1) in the Metro Suburban.

Lincoln-Way Central 14, Thornridge 0: Brad Bass (2-0) and Luke Bannerman fanned eight in combining on a no-hitter for visiting Lincoln-Way Central (8-4, 1-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Kevin Mampe hit two solo homers and Cam Post (3 RBI) doubled twice for the Knights in the five-inning game.

Reavis 12, Oak Lawn 11: Home runs by Jake Aguilar and Jose Romero (2-for-3, 3 runs) aided visiting Reavis (3-8, 1-2) in the South Suburban Red. Brandon Quillin posted two runs and two RBI for Oak Lawn, which also received three runs from Joe Dodaro.

Oak Forest 5, Shepard 4: Alex Maka went 2-for-3 with an RBI for host Oak Forest (9-3, 3-1) in the South Suburban crossover. Bob Peterka swatted a two-run double for Shepard (5-5, 3-2).

Chicago Christian 1, Guerin 0: Josh Novak’s RBI single in the top of the sixth was the game winner for Chicago Christian (10-6, 4-1) in the Suburban Christian Gold. Christian Bolhuis (4-2) allowed two hits and fanned 14 in going the route for the Knights.

Lincoln-Way East 12, Joliet West 5: Kenichi Haynie (3-for-4, 2 runs), Joe McNulty (3-for-4), Aaron Donald (3-for-5) and Evan Sandmann (2-for-5, 2 runs) registered four RBI apiece for visiting Lincoln-Way East (7-4, 1-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Bloom 5, Rich Central 1: Josh Hojnicki (1-hitter, 9 strikeouts) tossed a complete game and also had two RBI to pace visiting Bloom (4-4, 3-0) in the Southland.

Loyola 9, De La Salle 3: Joe Gazzi, Jalen Davis and Nick Pettigrew posted RBI for visiting De La Salle (5-4, 0-2) in the Catholic League crossover.

T.F. South 11, Tinley Park 0: James Macklin and Theo Johnson clubbed grands slam to power visiting T.F. South (5-6, 1-2) in the South Suburban Blue. Dan Landich struck out four in tossing a no-hitter for the Rebels in the five-inning game.

Kankakee 15, Rich South 3: Malcolm Dunlap hit a two-run homer to aid host Rich South (1-7, 0-3) in the five-inning Southland game.

Seton 19, Morgan Park Academy 18: Greg Alexander (4-for-5, 3 runs) homered and knocked in four runs to spark host Seton (3-4).

Eisenhower 17, Argo 4: Justin Longoria (5 hitter, 7 strikeouts) pitched a complete game and also had two RBI to steer visiting Eisenhower (3-5, 3-0). Anthony West (2 runs, 3 RBI) and Cristian Diaz de Sandy (4 runs) also starred for the Cardinals in the South Suburban Red.

Morgan Park 17, Gary West Side 7: James Davidson (2-for-3, 3 runs) hit a grand slam and totaled five RBI to power visiting Morgan Park (8-3-1) in the five-inning game.

Softball

Shepard 11, Hillcrest 0: Nikki Alex (8 strikeouts) pitched a one-hitter and also belted a two-run homer to lead host Shepard (6-3, 4-3) in the five-inning South Suburban crossover. Breanna Graffeo (4-for-4, 2 runs) doubled and totaled five RBI to pace the offense.

Lincoln-Way Central 18, Thornton 2: Courtney Kinney (4-for-4, 4 runs) hit a two-run homer and finished with four RBI to propel visiting Lincoln-Way Central (6-4, 1-0). Jackie Farbak doubled twice and drove in four runs to aid the Knights in the five-inning SouthWest Suburban Red contest.

Joliet West 3, Lincoln-Way East 2: Marissa Esparza contributed an RBI single for visiting Lincoln-Way East (6-3) in its SouthWest Suburban Blue opener. Nicole Van Gennep pitched 51/3 innings for the Griffins, allowing one earned run on three hits. She also fanned nine.

Providence 8, Romeoville 2: Kendall Judge tossed a two-hitter and struck out 15 to lift visiting Providence (5-3). Maeve Garvey (3-for-4, 3 doubles, 2 RBI) and Morgan Greenwood scored three runs apiece for the Celtics.

Argo 5, Argo 0: Devin Pieper starred on the mound (2-hitter, 11 strikeouts) and at the plate (2-for-2, RBI) to vault host T.F. South (4-4, 4-2) in the South Suburban crossover. Sydney Harrison (3-for-3) tacked on two runs and an RBI for the Rebels.

Lincoln-Way North 14, Thornwood 0: Jenna Trojniar (2-for-4) had three RBI and Sam Pietruszynski (2-for-3, 2 RBI) scored three runs to boost visiting Lincoln-Way North (4-3, 1-0). Anna Wheatley fired a three-hitter for the Phoenix in the five-inning SouthWest Suburban Red game.

Lockport 16, Bolingbrook 2: Haley Arndt (4-for-4) chalked up three runs and three RBI to propel host Lockport (6-3-1, 1-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Ally Howard (2-for-3) added three runs and two RBI for the Porters in the five-inning affair.

Reavis 15, Queen of Peace 3: Ally Balandis pitched a complete game and also went 3-for-4 with two runs and four RBI to key host Reavis (7-4) in the five-inning tilt. Ashley Galason (4-for-4) added three doubles, three runs and three RBI for the Rams. Kayla Rybolt provided two hits and two runs for Queen of Peace (1-6).

Andrew 30, Thornridge 1: Abbie Bailey (6-for-6) had four RBI and also pitched a complete game to direct visiting Andrew (10-2, 1-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Cassie Hoppenrath also batted in four runs for the Thunderbolts in the three-inning game.

Richards 17, Eisenhower 0: Emily Wetzel (5-for-5) registered three runs and two RBI to boost visiting Richards (7-3, 6-1) in the South Suburban Red. Kaitlyn Fechko added two runs for the Bulldogs in the five-inning contest.

Lincoln-Way West 3, Bradley 0: Morghan Dieringer (15 strikeouts) threw a one-hitter and Carly Souder contributed two RBI to spark visiting Lincoln-Way West (10-1, 1-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Lemont 10, Oak Lawn 0: Maddy Vermejan (3-for-4, 3 runs) and Rylie Jay (2-for-3, 2 runs) each totaled three RBI for visiting Lemont (9-3, 4-2) in the five-inning South Suburban crossover. Jessica Spinelli spun a two-hitter for the Indians.

Mother McAuley 9, St. Ignatius 6: Winning pitcher Dara Sanders struck out 11 and also went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and three RBI to catapult visiting Mother McAuley (7-3, 4-0) in the GCAC Red. Alex Brown (2-for-4) added a three-run blast for the Mighty Macs and Morgan Fleming had a two-run shot.

Illiana Christian 10, Elmwood Park 3: Ashley Wiltjer went 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI to lift visiting Illiana Christian (2-7, 2-1) in the Metro Suburban.

Donovan 14, Illinois Lutheran 8: Caroline Kuether (4-for-4) and Sara Currier (2-for-3) each put up two runs and an RBI for host Illinois Lutheran (1-7, 0-5) in the River Valley.

De La Salle 11, Gordon Tech 1: Amber Trendle (4-0) pitched a three-hitter and struck out nine to propel visiting De La Salle (8-1, 1-1) in the GCAC Red. Nicole Roney and Becca Gierut scored two runs each for the Meteors.

Girls Soccer

Providence 7, Bishop McNamara 0: Marybeth Galick and Alyssa Dorning each scored twice for host Providence (6-4-1, 2-2) in the East Suburban Catholic.

Bloom 9, Kankakee 0: Andi Hernandez chalked up two goals and two assists for visiting Bloom (4-1, 2-0) in the Southland.

Crete-Monee 4, Peotone 0: Lydia Cogan made seven saves in starring for host Crete-Monee. Adriana Vera led the offense with three goals and an assist.

Eisenhower 4, Argo 1 (OT): Julia Schultz and Yesenia Perez each scored twice to set the tone for host Eisenhower in the South Suburban Red.

Boys Volleyball

Brother Rice 25-25, St. Rita 16-18: Dan Hayes dished out 13 assists and Dave Kelly drilled eight kills to lead visiting Brother Rice (14-2, 4-0) in the Catholic League Blue. Ryan O’Connell (11 service points) and Mitch Weiler (7 kills) also starred for the Crusaders.

Joliet Catholic 25-15-25, Joliet West 19-25-22: Aron Goeken distributed 34 assists and Blake Reardon spiked 23 kills to spur visiting Joliet Catholic (9-3).

Boys Tennis

Lincoln-Way East 7, Lincoln-Way West 0: Rohan Piska prevailed at No. 1 singles to spark host Lincoln-Way East (7-2, 2-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Oak Forest 6, Chicago Christian 0: Rami Al-Ioussi (No. 2) won his singles match for host Oak Forest (5-2).

Illiana Christian 5, T.F. South 0: Kent Pitsenberger (No. 1) and James Zandstra (No. 2) posted wins in their respective singles matches for visiting Illiana Christian (4-0).

Andrew 3, Reavis 2: Alan Wang and Austin Wabi posted a victory at No. 1 doubles for visiting Andrew. Nick Karczynski added a win at top-seeded singles for the Thunderbolts.

Lemont 6, Plainfield South 1: Nick Urban (No. 1), Faraz Longi (No. 2) and Jack Hopkins (No. 3) garnered singles wins for host Lemont (6-1).

Lincoln-Way North 4, Richards 1: Graham Rodig and Brian Galassini teamed up for a win at top-seeded singles to vault host Lincoln-Way North (4-2). Mike Wells and Sam Hansen added a win at No. 4 doubles for the Phoenix.

Boys Water Polo

Stagg 17, Brother Rice 12: Zack Amendola scored six goals to lead Stagg in Palos Hills.

Girls Water Polo

Andrew 13, Sandburg 11: Megan Hofer netted seven goals and Genny McCarthy scored four times to pace host Andrew in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Caitlin Krull had five goals for Sandburg and Sarah Dolitsky scored four.

Boys Gymnastics

Lincoln-Way co-op 133.700, Andrew co-op 93.100: Kaleb Hong (45.300) won the all-around title to lead visiting Lincoln-Way co-op in the SouthWest Suburban dual.

College Baseball

Joliet Junior College 1, Kankakee 0: Josh Jimenez (6 strikeouts) pitched eight innings of five-hit ball and T.J. Condon earned the save in guiding host Joliet Junior College (21-13). The Wolves scored in the fifth inning as David Rico walked before coming in three batters later on an error.

Holy Cross College 1-4, St. Xavier 0-7: Tom Hayes’ two-run single highlighted a three-run eighth inning for host St. Xavier (16-21, 11-6) in the second game of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader. Brad Myjak and Ryan Pellack added two hits and two runs apiece for the Cougars. Dan Wetzel (3-4) gave up six hits and struck out five in going the distance for St. Xavier in the opener.

Men’s Golf

Olivet Nazarene Spring Invitational: Runner-up Austin Gass shot a 78 as St. Francis (333) finished fourth in the eight-team field at Balmoral Woods Country Club in Crete. Olivet Nazarene (326) won first place by four strokes over Roosevelt.

Men’s Tennis

Prairie State 8, Waubonsee 1: Khodie Hayes and Srdja Nikolic won at top-seeded doubles as visiting Prairie State (8-1, 6-0) captured its second consecutive Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference title. Nikolic also prevailed at No. 1 singles for the Pioneers, who became the first team in school history to win back-to-back conference championships.

Women’s Softball

Lewis 7, Wisconsin-Parkside 3: Brittany Russell’s two-run triple capped a four-run seventh inning for visiting Lewis (14-20, 8-13) in the Great Lakes Valley. Kimmy Keats added two RBI for the Flyers, including a sacrifice fly that started the decisive rally. Game 2 was suspended by darkness in the top of the eighth with the score tied 1-all.
