Baseball

Mount Carmel 11, St. Joseph 0: Dave Dobrinich (3-for-3, 3 runs) contributed a two-run double and a two-run homer to power visiting Mount Carmel (12-2, 4-0) in the five-inning Catholic League crossover. Marko Boricich (4 innings) and Luis Rojas struck out 12 in combining on a no-hitter for the Caravan.

Richards 17, Shepard 5: A.J. Sanchez struck out eight over five innings and also had three RBI to boost visiting Richards (12-3, 7-0) in the South Suburban Red. Noel Castro (2-for-3) contributed four RBI for the Bulldogs and Eric Mallo (3-for-3, 2 RBI) scored four runs in the six-inning contest. Kevin Carmody went 2-for-3 with two RBI for Shepard.

Brother Rice 10, Gordon Tech 0: Andrew Dyke (3-for-3) clubbed a three-run homer and an RBI single for visiting Brother Rice (16-3, 5-0) in the five-inning Catholic League crossover. Ian McGinnis (4-1) pitched four innings for the Crusaders, scattering four hits and striking out seven.

Lincoln-Way West 7, Bolingbrook 0: Dan Brokop (2-for-4, 2 runs) launched a two-run homer and Nick Farrell (2-for-4) also posted two RBI for visiting Lincoln-Way West (13-0) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Richard Yelnick (5 innings) and two relievers collaborated on a five-hitter for the Warriors.

Providence 2, De La Salle 1: Cam Galgano’s sacrifice fly and Zach Pych’s run-scoring single — both in the second inning — guided visiting Providence (13-4, 4-0) in the Catholic League crossover. Trevino Rodriguez had an RBI for De La Salle (6-6, 3-4).

Illinois Lutheran 7, St. Anne 1: Jared Buzan struck out 15 in tossing a five-inning no-hitter for host Illinois Lutheran (12-1, 4-1). Dylan Gould (3-for-3) posted two runs, two RBI and two stolen bases for the Chargers in the River Valley.

Oak Forest 10-16, Hillcrest 0-3: Brian Richard had three RBI in the opener for host Oak Forest (12-4, 6-1), which posted a pair of five-inning victories in the South Suburban Blue.

Softball

Mother McAuley 5, Tinley Park 2: Kara Bischoff hit a two-run homer to power visiting Mother McAuley (9-3). Amy Balich (3-for-4) and Morgan Fleming (2-for-4, 2 runs) added solo shots for the winners and Mady Ruppert contributed an RBI single. Annalisse Scott belted a two-run homer for Tinley Park (8-3).

Lemont 16, Argo 6: Maddy Vermejan (3-for-3, double, HR) and Rylie Jay (3-for-4, double) each had three runs and four RBI to propel host Lemont (11-4, 6-2). Lauren May added a homer and three RBI for the Indians in the five-inning South Suburban Blue contest.

Illinois Lutheran 11, St. Anne 1: Caroline Kuether and Samantha Sievert registered two RBI apiece to carry host Illinois Lutheran (3-7, 1-4) in the three-inning River Valley game.

Reavis 5, Hinsdale Central 3: Ally Balandis (2 runs) homered and drove in two runs for host Reavis (9-6). Kim Baffin struck out six in going the distance for the Rams in the five-inning game.

De Le Salle 16, Gordon Tech 2: Keagan Helson (2-hitter, 8 strikeouts) pitched a complete game and also hit two homers to pace visiting De La Salle (9-2) in the five-inning GCAC crossover.

Oak Lawn 17, Queen of Peace 5: Reily McTeague’s five RBI led visiting Oak Lawn (5-8).

Girls Soccer

Beecher 10, Rich Central 0: Jordyn Miner and Eve Stolzenbach contributed hat tricks for host Beecher (5-5). Daisy Barraza tacked on two assists for the Bobcats.

Providence 1, Plainfield Central 0: Alyssa Dorning set up Kyleigh Maday for the goal that elevated host Providence (7-4-2). Nicki Griffith posted the shutout.

Bloom 1, Evergreen Park 0: Jazmin Aldape (goal) and Maria Narcisi (5 saves) were the standouts for visiting Bloom (5-1).

Boys Volleyball

Lockport 25-25-25, Stagg 27-19-22: Adam Krzos totaled 13 kills and Danny Woulfe had 23 digs to aid host Lockport (11-6, 1-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Nick Stanek had 28 assists for Stagg (9-6, 1-1) and Sean Ruynan provided 18 digs.

Andrew 25-25, Homewood-Flossmoor 11-10: Sanil Thomas had eight assists, six aces and five kills to catapult visiting Andrew (9-6, 3-0) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Sean Yerkes added nine assists and four digs for the Thunderbolts.

Boys Tennis

Marian Catholic quadrangular: Kevin Kwok and Chuck Heisel won once at No. 1 doubles and twice at No. 2 doubles in leading Marian Catholic (16-2) past Lincoln-Way North 3-2 and St. Patrick and Brother Rice by identical 5-0 scores.

Boys Water Polo

Stagg 14, Bradley 10: Connor Kaufmann netted five goals and Zack Amendola scored four times to lift host Stagg in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Lane Holin added 17 saves for the Chargers.

Homewood-Flossmoor 15, Andrew 12: Broc Thompson had 11 goals and Jakobi McClellan stopped 21 shots to spur host Homewood-Flossmoor in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Andrew Wojdyla’s six goals were the most for Andrew.

Lincoln-Way Central 14, Lincoln-Way East 10: Tim Stygar scored four goals and Jake Burke made 10 saves to ignite visiting Lincoln-Way Central in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Girls Water Polo

Lincoln-Way North 14, Lockport 5: Missy Wortel and Cassidy DeGraff scored four times apiece to spur host Lincoln-Way North in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Andrew 8, Homewood-Flossmoor 2: Megan Hofer totaled three goals to pace host Andrew in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Lincoln-Way East 6, Lincoln-Way Central 3: Lauren VanderVelde and Aimee Schaaf netted two goals apiece for visiting Lincoln-Way East in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Liz Klock scored three goals to pace Lincoln-Way Central.

College Baseball

Trinity Christian 10, Purdue-Calumet 3: Danny Britt hit a two-run single and finished with three RBI to power host Trinity Christian (19-17).

Joliet Junior College 3-0, Harper 1-3: Josh Jimenez (unearned run) gave up seven hits and fanned seven in going the distance for visiting Joliet Junior College (26-14, 6-3) in the opener of the Region IV doubleheader. Ron Sessler (sacrifice fly) and Steven Wittkamp (double) garnered RBI for the Wolves. Kevin Ruff (earned run) fanned five in pitching a complete game for Joliet Junior College in the nightcap.

Men’s Golf

CCAC Championship: Kyle Bahnick (76) was fifth as St. Xavier finished two strokes behind champion Cardinal Stritch (308) in the 12-team field at Dunne National in Oak Forest. Kirby Brown, Brendan Ryan and Bobby Lively added 78s for the Cougars. Logan Vos (77) earned a share of sixth in pacing fourth-place Trinity Christian (321). Austin Gass carded an 80 for sixth-place St. Francis (324).

Great Lakes Valley Championship: Lewis (880) placed fourth out of 14 teams at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind. Robert Dofflemyer III paced the Flyers with a three-round total of 215 (74-70-71) that enabled him to tie for fourth. Lewis will take on host Indianapolis in the match play championship Tuesday morning, with winner advancing to the overall finals in the afternoon.

Women’s Tennis

CCAC Quarterfinal

St. Francis 9, Judson 0: Princess Clemente prevailed at No. 1 singles and top-seeded doubles for host St. Francis (13-9).
