Lemont 6, Lincoln-Way East 0: Jake Latz (6 innings) scattered one hit and fanned nine to propel host Lemont (16-1). Matt Monaco contributed an RBI double and two runs for the Indians. Evan Sandmann had the lone hit for Lincoln-Way East (8-8).
De La Salle 18, Bishop McNamara 8: Glenn Kubek (3-for-5) posted four RBI and Joe Gazzi (3-for-4) scored four runs to propel visiting De La Salle (9-7, 5-5) in the Catholic League White. Tom Duddleston (2-for-5, 2 runs) added three RBI for the Meteors in the six-inning tilt.
T.F. South 2, Crete-Monee 1: Brian Seymour’s one-out single in the bottom of the seventh scored Matt Woods with the winning run for T.F. South (12-6). Brandon Hickey struck out 13 in pitching a complete game for Crete-Monee (8-8). Brandon Hannigan supplied an RBI single for the Warriors.
St. Rita 12, Loyola 1: Jake Shepski’s two-run double in the bottom of the first was the catalyst for St. Rita (22-0, 7-0) in the Catholic League Blue. Matt Lenzen spun a two-hitter for the Mustangs in the five-inning game.
Homewood-Flossmoor 3, Lincoln-Way Central 0: Malcolm Grady pitched a two-hitter and struck out 10 to key host Homewood-Flossmoor (11-3). James Sheehan, Isaac Cutrara and Bobby Meagher scored runs for the Vikings in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Joe Davi surrendered three unearned runs on four hits in firing a complete game for Lincoln-Way Central (13-5).
Oak Forest 13, Normal West 3: Joe Funkhouser (3-1) was the winning pitcher for visiting Oak Forest (13-6).
Rich South 6, Thornridge 5: Elijah Garrett contributed three runs to assist host Rich South (4-8).
Seton 11, Leo 1: Eron Evans (3-for-4) scored four runs and Tyrone Gaston (3-for-4) added three RBI to steer visiting Seton (5-6) in the Catholic League Red.
Willowbrook 9, Oak Lawn 2: Matt Witkowski contributed an RBI single for visiting Oak Lawn (6-14).

Marist 2-5, St. Patrick 0-1: Kyle Barrett posted a two-hitter and fanned six to spark host Marist (10-8, 3-1) in the opener of the East Suburban Catholic doubleheader. Eric Hansen and Ryan Kairis knocked in runs for the RedHawks. Kairis (2-for-4) added two more RBI in Game 2 to support Matt McKenzie, who gave up three hits in tossing a complete game.
Joliet Catholic 12-6, Notre Dame 0-5: Nick Dalesandro (2-for-3) posted two RBI and Zach Jackovich scored the winning run on a wild pitch to help visiting Joliet Catholic (16-3, 3-1) sweep the ESCC doubleheader. Dalesandro (3-hitter, 10 strikeouts) pitched six innings in Game 1 and also went 4-for-4 with three RBI.
Bremen 9-6, Kankakee 2-3: Connor Banovich went 4-for-4 with an RBI to catapult host Bremen (12-10) in Game 1. Jason Jenicek tossed a three-hitter and struck out five for the Braves in the nightcap.
Evergreen Park 20-10, Rich East 2-0: Dan Koehler (3-for-4) recorded four runs and four RBI in leading host Evergreen Park (9-8) in the five-inning opener. Mark Martin (2-for-3) added four runs for the Mustangs and Corey Miller (2-for-3, 2 runs) had three RBI. Kevin Gallagher was touched for two hits and struck out 10 in going the distance. Evergreen Park scored seven times in the first inning en route to the easy win in Game 2.
Marian Catholic 1-5, Carmel 0-5: Chris Austin stroked an RBI single in the ninth inning to elevate visiting Marian Catholic (10-8, 2-2) in the first game of the East Suburban Catholic doubleheader. Bryce Hennessy surrendered three hits and struck out six in going the distance for the Spartans. Luiscarlo Avila had two of the Spartans’ four hits in Game 2.
Hanover (Ind.) Central 19-14, Beecher 0-7: Cameron Morgan swatted a two-run homer and Dallas Saddler chipped in two runs for host Beecher (12-7) in the second game.
Merrillville Andrean 11-10, Illiana Christian 2-1: Caleb Jonkman had an RBI in each game for visiting Illiana Christian (5-9).
Lincoln-Way West 3, Streator 0: Dan Brokop drove in two runs via a single and sacrifice fly to spur Lincoln-Way West (18-0). Richard Yelnick pitched a one-hitter and fanned eight for the Warriors.
Lincoln-Way West 8, Metamora 1: Luke Morgan (7 strikeouts) pitched four hitless innings and also belted a two-run homer to carry Lincoln-Way West in its first game of the day. Dan Brokop tacked on a two-run single for the Warriors.

Illinois Lutheran 4, Hall 3: Collin Borns (2-for-2, run) generated two RBI for Illinois Lutheran (16-1) in the championship. Jared Buzan (6-1) struck out 12 for the Chargers and Sam Geraci recorded the final three outs for the save.
Oak Forest 6, Reavis 1: Corrina Boersma (2-for-3) contributed one run and one RBI for host Oak Forest (14-4, 8-1) in the South Suburban crossover. Ashley Galason provided an RBI to lead Reavis (10-8, 7-5).
Shepard 9, Morton 2: Sarah O’Kelly went 4-for-4 with two RBI for host Shepard (11-5).
Tinley Park 6, Lincoln-Way Central 2: Alex Laphen’s two-run single in the bottom of the fifth highlighted a five-run outburst for Tinley Park (10-4). Annalisse Scott allowed five hits and struck out six in pitching a complete game for the Titans. Nicole Rote and Hannah Hosty contributed RBI singles for Lincoln-Way Central (10-7).
Chicago Christian 10, Walther Christian 0: Davina Gutierrez (1-hitter) struck out 13 in addition to clubbing a two-run double for host Chicago Christian (6-7). Trisha Belgrave (3-for-4, 2 runs) blasted a two-run homer for the Knights in the six-inning tilt.
Mother McAuley 6, Loyola 4: Emily Rux (3-for-3) chalked up two RBI for host Mother McAuley (12-3, 7-0) in the GCAC Red.

Joliet Catholic 4-3, Nazareth 2-11: Marissa Sliwa and Alyssa Callans scored seventh-inning runs to put visiting Joliet Catholic (8-10, 1-7) over the top in Game 1 of the ESCC doubleheader. Meghan Harrison bashed a two-run triple for the Angels in the finale.
Benet 1-23, Providence 0-7: Morgan Greenwood (2-for-4) contributed a home run and three RBI for visiting Providence (8-7, 2-4) in the second game of the ESCC doubleheader. Kendal Judge (6-hitter, 19 strikeouts) pitched all 10 innings for the Celtics in Game 1.
Thornwood 16-19, Proviso West 6-8: Hannah McPherson was a combined 4-for-6 with five RBI for host Thornwood (5-6).
Oak Lawn 5, Elgin 0: Reily McTeague slugged a three-run homer and finished with five RBI to pace Oak Lawn (10-9) in the third-place game.

Mount Assisi 10, Larkin 9: Sabrina Miller smacked a grand slam and a three-run homer to power Mount Assisi in its first game of the afternoon.
Hampshire 8, Oak Lawn 2: Mia Loya’s two-run homer was the big hit for Oak Lawn in the second round.
Elgin 9, Mount Assisi 5: Miller walloped a two-run homer to lead Mount Assisi in its first game.
Oak Lawn 14, Larkin 0: Loya and Heyden Landingham each posted three hits and three RBI for Oak Lawn in the five-inning tilt. Morgan Jozsa allowed two hits in pitching a complete game for the Spartans.
Lincoln-Way East 6, Watertown (Wis.) 5: Blake Ruiz scored the deciding run on an error in the bottom of the third to spark Lincoln-Way East (11-5). Ashley Hesse, Jenny Van Geertry and Marissa Esparza added RBI for the Griffins, who overcame a 5-0 deficit.
Lincoln-Way North 5, Watertown (Wis.) 3: Haley Ruch’s two-run single in the bottom of the seventh was the difference maker for Lincoln-Way North (8-5).
Lincoln-Way West 6, Canton (Ill.) 1: Morghan Dieringer tossed a one-hitter and struck out 11 in helping Lincoln-Way West (18-1) finish 3-0 in the weekend event. Kayla Seymour paced the offense with two hits and two runs.
Homewood-Flossmoor 6, Oak Forest 1: Kristin Spratt netted two goals to lift visiting Homewood-Flossmoor (3-9). Maddie Baxa had the goal for Oak Forest (7-9).
Tinley Park 7, Beecher 1: Elizabeth Carrillo, Aileen Tejeda and Emily Lilly were among the goal scorers for host Tinley Park (9-2).
Shepard 1, Joliet West 0: Kelly Evancich’s goal boosted visiting Shepard (9-4-1).
Lemont 0, Lincoln-Way West 0: Audrey Pearson (8 saves) tied a school record with her 11th shutout for Lincoln-Way West (12-2-1). Kelly Fritz garnered her eighth shutout to pace Lemont (8-0-2).
Lincoln-Way North 2, Lincoln-Way East 0: Goals by Tasha Fields and Sarah Mirabella set the tone for host Lincoln-Way North (12-3-1, 3-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Bethany Dombkowski registered her ninth shutout. Lincoln-Way East slipped to 9-4-1, 2-1.
Sacred Heart-Griffin Invitational
Quincy Notre Dame 4, Providence 2: Kayleigh Maday and Alyssa Dorning each contributed one goal and one assist for Providence (9-6-2) in the championship.
Providence 5, Peoria Notre Dame 1: Dorning’s two goals sparked Providence in the semifinal.
Minooka Invitational: Lockport (14-8) won three of four matches, the last a 26-24, 16-25, 25-21 decision over Andrew in the Silver Division championship, the equivalent of fifth place. Adam Krzos totaled 28 kills and 23 digs for Lockport, which also received 23 kills and eight blocks from Matt Sadler. Sean Yerkes totaled 109 assists on the day for Andrew (12-8) and Sanil Thomas pounded 67 kills.
Prospect Invitational: Blake Reardon posted 61 kills over five matches for Joliet Catholic (14-5), which closed with a 25-18, 25-20 win over Prospect. Tony Allen tacked on 62 digs for the Hilltoppers, who went 3-2 in the tournament.
Oswego quadrangular: Rohan Piska (No.1) won all three of his singles matches as Lincoln-Way East (16-2) captured first place by defeating Wheaton North 4-2 and Oswego and Aurora Central Catholic by identical 6-0 scores. Tom Emola and Jarek Jozwik added a 3-0 run at top-seeded doubles for the Griffins.
Boys Water Polo
Mundelein quadrangular: Broc Thompson scored a team-high 10 goals for Homewood-Flossmoor, which beat Conant 13-2 in addition to losing to Naperville Central 10-6 and Mundelein 8-5.
Girls Water Polo
Lincoln-Way Central 8, Wheeling 7: Cailey Davern and Liz Klock put in three goals apiece for visiting Lincoln-Way Central.
Naperville North Invitational: Ashley O’Neill netted one goal in each match for Lockport, which lost to Young 15-5 in the fifth-place contest. The Porters also fell to Rolling Meadows 5-4 and Naperville North 16-1.
Stevenson Invitational: Clare Bryar’s six goals highlighted Mother McAuley’s tournament-closing 8-7 win over Stevenson. Fran Williams scored six times for the Mighty Macs in a 6-2 victory over Okemos (Mich.). McAuley also lost to East Grand Rapids (Mich.) 7-1.
Marian Catholic 15, St. Viator 4: Celeste Friel scored a school record nine goals to lift host Marian Catholic (8-5, 4-0) in the East Suburban Catholic.
Girls Track & Field
Bremen Invitational: Mariah Terry won the 100-meter dash (12.7 seconds) and Courtney Dalton placed first in the 300-meter hurdles (47.5) as Shepard (110 points) finished third behind Joliet West (134) and Plainfield North (122.5) among the 13 scoring teams. Chasz Wells added a victory in the triple jump (35 feet-7½ inches) for the Astros, who also posted the top times in the 400 relay (50.4), 800 relay (1 minute, 49.6 seconds) and mile relay (4:20.6). Charlene Horton won the 200 (26.5) and Jhanealle Vassell prevailed in the high jump (4-8) for fourth-place T.F. North (61). Bremen’s Christyle Smith was tops in the 400 (1:00.9) and Reavis’ Paulina Gal bested all competitors in the 800 (2:29.4) and shot put (39-6).
St. Xavier 8-0, Robert Morris 2-0: Alec Barnhart (2-for-3, 2 runs) and Brad Myjak posted three RBI each to spark visiting St. Xavier (19-26, 13-11) in Game 1 of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader. Chris Klein (4-2) allowed six hits and fanned nine in going the distance for the Cougars. Bryan Villanova had two of St. Xavier’s six hits in the nightcap.
South Suburban 7-8, Harper 2-7: Steve Letz went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI to direct host South Suburban (26-14) in the first game. Dom Albanese was among the standouts for the Bulldogs in the finale, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Joliet Junior College 7-4, Triton 0-2: Josh Jimenez gave up three hits and struck out six in pitching a complete game for host Joliet Junior College (31-15, 9-3) in the opener of the Region IV doubleheader. Colten Trager (2-for-4) posted a two-run single and three RBI to pace the offense in the opener of the Region IV doubleheader. Kevin Ruff tossed a five-hitter and fanned six to lead the Wolves in Game 2. Ben Kirchler contributed one run and one RBI for the winners, while Matt Filkins put up two hits and two runs.
Lewis 14-10, McKendree 5-4: Visiting Lewis (22-21, 14-15) belted five home runs – all of them solo shots – and totaled 29 hits in taking both ends of the Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader. Austin Mastela (3-for-5, 3 RBI), Kyle Kapka and Jake Murray each went deep in the opener for the Flyers, while Joel Rotkvich added a three-run double and four RBI. Murray provided another homer in Game 2 and Ben Albano (2-for-3) drove in three runs.
Trinity Christian 16-6, Olivet Nazarene 5-1: Joe McCaw was 4-for-8 with five RBI over both games of the CCAC doubleheader for host Trinity Christian (23-18, 15-10).
St. Francis 8-8, Holy Cross College 5-4: Kyle Burton finished the day 4-for-7 with three runs and two RBI for visiting St. Francis (32-17, 20-4) in the CCAC.
Olivet Nazarene 5, St. Francis 2: Andres Stecher and Mark Zubov (No. 2 doubles) were among the winners for visiting St. Francis (15-9).
Loyola 25-27-21-25, Lewis 16-25-25-21: B.J. Boldog dished out 44 assists and Geoff Powell posted 22 kills to pace visiting Lewis (23-7).
Great Lakes Valley Tournament: Lewis (320) was fourth after the opening round at Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo. The Flyers were led by Danielle Coffman, who carded a 77 in occupying sixth place. Indianapolis (304) held the top spot in the 14-team field.
Lewis 1-10, McKendree 0-3: Lewis (22-21, 16-14) clinched a berth in the GLVC Tournament by taking both games in Romeoville. The Flyers won the opener on Nicole Kappelman’s seventh-inning single that brought in pinch runner Frankie Castagna. Ali Brems (5-2) tossed a six-hitter and fanned nine for the winners. Alyssa Moseley (2-for-3) collected two RBI for Lewis in Game 2, and Brittany Russell (2-for-3) added two runs. Kelly Bowler (13-9) gave up four hits in going the distance for the Flyers.
St. Xavier 6-4, Siena Heights 2-0: Nicole Nonnemacher (17-3) tossed a three-hitter as visiting St. Xavier (40-5-1) recorded its 27th shutout of the season with the Game 2 victory. Megan James ripped a two-run triple for the Cougars and Savannah Kinsella scored twice. Katie Sears rang up two hits and two RBI for St. Xavier in the opener. Megan Nonnemacher (20-2) surrendered five hits in going the route for the winners.
Wheaton 1-3, Trinity Christian 0-0: Mattie McGuire surrendered four hits in pitching a complete game for visiting Trinity Christian (23-23) in the opener. Kaleigh Velasquez’s seventh-inning single was the only hit for the Trolls in Game 2.
