Lincoln-Way Central coach Liz Karales was looking to change her lineup.
The Knights were more than willing to oblige.
Jana Mudrock played doubles last season, winning three matches at state with then-senior Catrina Cimaroli. Two seniors, Margaret Kolyvas and Maria Brown, played singles last season.
All three switched roles this season. Mudrock is Central’s No. 1 singles player, Kolyvas and Brown are Central’s No. 1 doubles team, and Karales could not be happier.
“Margaret and Maria have paired up nicely, and it’s really nice they clicked since the beginning of the season,” Karales said. “Jana has played well, too, with four of her six losses to the same two people.”
Lincoln-Way Central will compete Wednesday (doubles) and Thursday (singles) at the SouthWest Suburban Red meet at Andrew.
“I’m really happy with how the girls have played,” Karales said. “We’ve got some good experience going into the postseason and our focus is to qualify six people (two singles, four doubles) for state.”
