Baseball

Bremen 10, Tinley Park 4: Sean Grant (3 earned runs, 5 strikeouts) pitched a complete game and also went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI to propel host Bremen (13-10, 4-5)) in the South Suburban Blue. Quinn Kelly, Alec Foster and Mark Suarez knocked in runs for Tinley Park (5-9, 2-7).

Lemont 7, T.F. North 1: Mike Wisz (3-for-3) had two RBI and Ryan Folliard scored twice to boost visiting Lemont (17-1, 9-0) in the South Suburban Blue. Kevin Trojak (5 innings) allowed one run on four hits in capturing the victory. Tabias Hill belted a home run for T.F. North (6-13, 3-6).

Evergreen Park 15, Hillcrest 0: Joe Moran struck out seven in tossing a no-hitter for visiting Evergreen Park (10-8, 6-4). Corey Miller (3-for-4, 2 runs) and KeyShawn Carpenter (2-for-3, 2 runs) posted four RBI apiece for the Mustangs in the five-inning South Suburban crossover.

Joliet Catholic 2, Benet 1: Mitch Boe’s RBI triple and Aaron Markley’s run-scoring single — both in the third inning — guided host Joliet Catholic (17-3, 4-1) in the East Suburban Catholic. Drake Fellows gave up six hits and struck out nine in going the route for the Hilltoppers.

St. Laurence 17, Providence 4: Mike Miller (2-run HR, 3 runs) and Kevin White (2 runs) each went 3-for-4 with four RBI in elevating visiting St. Laurence (18-2, 7-1). Brad Wood struck out five in going the route for the Vikings in the five-inning Catholic League Blue affair. Niko Kutsulis hit a two-run homer for Providence (15-7, 6-2).

De La Salle 5, Young 4: Trevino Rodriguez’s RBI double in the bottom of the eighth was the game winner for De La Salle (11-7). Rodriguez also earned the victory after pitching 41/3 scoreless innings in relief.

Ag. Science 12, Bogan 0: Nick Oliver fired a one-hitter and struck out 15 to ignite visiting Ag. Science (16-3, 8-1). Joe Wolniakowski went 3-for-3 with two RBI to lead the offense in the five-inning Public League Sammy Sosa game.

Homewood-Flossmoor 5, Stagg 3: Cole Tronson’s three-run double in the bottom of the first highlighted a four-run outburst for Homewood-Flossmoor (12-3, 3-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Ethan Glaza had a two-run single for Stagg (6-12, 2-3).

Lockport 3, Joliet West 2: Mike Formella (2-hitter) surrendered one earned run and fanned 10 for visiting Lockport (10-10, 5-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Chris Grazioli’s RBI groundout capped a three-run second inning for the Porters.

Oak Lawn 11, Argo 10: Justin Swatek singled home his brother, Mitch, in the bottom of the seventh to propel Oak Lawn (7-14, 6-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Joe Dodaro (3-for-4) added a home run and five RBI for the Spartans. Dustin Krob (3-for-4) provided a homer and three RBI to lead Argo (4-10, 2-7).

Lincoln-Way Central 14, Andrew 4: Kevin Mampe (5 RBI) walloped a grand slam and Pat Michalak (3 runs, 4 RBI) added a three-run triple to catapult visiting Lincoln-Way Central (14-5, 5-0) in the five-inning SouthWest Suburban Red contest. Padilla stroked a two-run single for Andrew (6-10, 2-3).

Richards 8, Reavis 4: A.J. Sanchez pitched a complete game (3 earned runs, 5 strikeouts) and also chalked up two RBI for host Richards (16-4, 11-1) in the South Suburban Red. Jose Romero hit a three-run homer to lead Reavis (8-12, 5-5).

Marian Catholic 5, Nazareth 3: Luiscarlo Avila’s two-run double in the seventh inning broke a 2-all tie and Patrick Schmidt added an RBI double one batter later to lift visiting Marian Catholic (11-8, 3-2) in the East Suburban Catholic.

Illinois Lutheran 2, Gardner-South Wilmington 0: Sam Geraci had an RBI single and also earned the save to aid visiting Illinois Lutheran (17-1, 6-1) in the River Valley.

Eisenhower 3, Shepard 2: Justin Longoria (4-hitter) pitched a complete game and also scored the winning run for visiting Eisenhower (5-8, 4-4) in the South Suburban Red. Juan Gallardo and Cristian Espinoza had RBI for the Cardinals.

Bradley 5, Thornton 1: Ronnie Cross lashed an RBI double for visiting Thornton (1-13, 0-5) in the five-inning SouthWest Suburban Red game.

Softball

Lincoln-Way East 12, Joliet Central 1: Jenny Van Geertry (3-for-3, 3 runs) hit a three-run triple among her four RBI to propel visiting Lincoln-Way East (12-5, 2-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Sarah Esposito and Nikole Van Gennep combined to allow one hit and strike out eight for the Griffins in the five-inning tilt.

Illiana Christian 5, Ridgewood 1: Jess Bombino hit a solo homer and Heather Wiltjer (2-hitter) pitched a complete game to boost visiting Illiana Christian (9-10, 5-1) in the Metro Suburban.

Andrew 20, Thornton 1: Kelly Levigne (4-for-5) had three RBI to power visiting Andrew (13-4, 4-1) in the five-inning SouthWest Suburban Red game.

Oak Forest 7, Bremen 6: Taylor Sterkowitz (4-for-4) hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to pace Oak Forest (15-4, 9-1). Annie Zubek (2-for-4) chipped in two runs for the Bengals in the South Suburban Blue.

Mother McAuley 16, Queen of Peace 0: Jess Alberts spun a one-hitter and struck out 13 to key visiting Mother McAuley (13-3, 8-0) in the five-inning GCAC Red contest. Maryssa Vela slammed a three-run homer for the Mighty Macs, who also received three RBI from Kara Bischoff (3-for-4, 3 runs). Isabelle Odgen’s fourth-inning single was the only hit for Queen of Peace (3-11, 0-6).

Providence 4, Marist 2: Courtney Pych’s three-run homer was the difference-maker for visiting Providence (9-7, 3-4) in the East Suburban Catholic. Brooke Wyderski (2-for-4) posted one run and one RBI for Marist (14-4, 8-1).

Joliet West 13, Homewood-Flossmoor 3: Meagan Donermeyer contributed a solo homer for host Homewood-Flossmoor (4-9, 2-3) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Lincoln-Way North 10, Bradley 7: Anne Allen and Jenna Trojniar clubbed three-run homers in the bottom of the fifth to rally Lincoln-Way North (9-5, 4-1) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Taylor Bowman (3-for-4, 4 RBI) also provided a three-run blast for the Phoenix.

Sandburg 5, Fenwick 4: Madeline Hanley’s RBI in the bottom of the 10th won it for Sandburg (10-9). Caroline Kuzel gave up six hits and struck out seven in pitching a complete game for the Eagles.

Richards 4, Oak Lawn 3: Lauryn McManus singled home Molly Pohrebny in the top of the eighth with the deciding run for Richards (13-4, 11-2). Savana Julian added two hits and two runs for the Bulldogs in the South Suburban Red. Mia Loya belted a three-run homer for Oak Lawn (10-10, 5-6).

Shepard 8, Reavis 7: Jenna Huisenga scored the winning run on Alyssa DeChene’s ninth-inning double for Shepard (12-5, 7-5) in the South Suburban Red. Stephanie Brand pitched a complete game for the Astros. Natalie Dudek (3 runs) and Ashley Galason (2 runs) each went 4-for-4 to aid Reavis (10-9, 7-6).

Gardner-South Wilmington 13, Illinois Lutheran 2: Kassie Kernagis smoked an RBI double for visiting Illinois Lutheran (4-9, 1-7) in the five-inning River Valley game.

Girls Soccer

Bloom 6, Rich East 0: Jasmin Villanueva recorded three goals and an assist for visiting Bloom (8-1, 5-0) in the Southland.

Lemont 4, T.F. United 0: Aleksandra Mihailovic netted a hat trick and Kelly Fritz racked up her 10th shutout to pace visiting Lemont (9-0-2, 7-0) in the South Suburban Blue. T.F. United fell to 6-5, 4-4.

Sandburg 2, Bolingbrook 1: Goals by Sarah DeWolf and Christine Szymanski directed visiting Sandburg (8-3-1, 4-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Tinley Park 5, Bremen 1: Elzabeth Carrillo’s hat trick led visiting Tinley Park (9-2, 7-0) in the South Suburban Blue.

Lincoln-Way East 4, Mother McAuley 0: Katie Wilson stopped six shots in garnering her sixth shutout for host Lincoln-Way East (10-4-1). Jill Kilrea, Samantha Fiorella, Caroline Kilrea and Emily Scianna scored for the Griffins.

Reavis 2, Eisenhower 1: Celeste Lara and Ewelina Kmin had goals for visiting Reavis (11-6, 7-2) in the South Suburban Red. Cecia Esquivel scored for Eisenhower.

Lincoln-Way North 3, Lincoln-Way West 0: Bianca Galassini, Carly Marchal and Valen Manns scored for host Lincoln-Way North (13-3-1, 3-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red. Lincoln-Way West fell to 12-3-1, 1-2.

Shepard 7, Oak Lawn 0: Hat tricks by Tiffani Kotas and Kelly Evancich boosted host Shepard (10-4-1, 6-2) in the South Suburban Red.

Boys Volleyball

Stagg 25-25, Bolingbrook 23-20: Trevor Crain and Kamil Krysiak had five kills each for visiting Stagg (10-7, 2-2) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Nick Stanek led the Chargers in assists with 13.

Lincoln-Way West 25-25, Homewood-Flossmoor 16-19: Michael Wexter’s 15 assists and five kills loomed large for visiting Lincoln-Way West (15-0, 4-0) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Thomas Knetl had 12 assists for Homewood-Flossmoor (3-11, 0-5) and Marques Robinson had six kills.

Lincoln-Way East 25-25, Joliet Central 11-23: Evan Heathcock and Carson Slager had four kills each for visiting Lincoln-Way East (22-1, 5-0) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Shepard 25-18-25, Lemont 16-25-22: Hussein Al-Rashdan set up 28 assists and Doug Nelson drilled nine kills to power host Shepard (7-12, 2-2) in the South Suburban crossover. Ed Kostrubala registered 10 kills to pace Lemont.

Lincoln-Way Central 25-25, Lockport 21-21: Adam Sargis had nine kills and Mitch Severson had 12 digs to key visiting Lincoln-Way Central (17-6, 3-1) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Sandburg 22-25-25, Andrew 25-21-17: Dan Tynski’s 13 kills and Erik Krause’s 16 digs were instrumental for host Sandburg (14-7, 2-2) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Sean Yerkes had 24 assists for Andrew (12-9, 4-1) and Sanil Thomas (7 digs) added 10 kills.

Joliet Catholic 25-25, Benet 16-21: Aron Goeken had 15 assists and Blake Reardon chipped in nine kills to direct visiting Joliet Catholic (15-6, 3-1) in the East Suburban Catholic.

Boys Tennis

Andrew 5, Thornwood co-op 2: Ryan Clemente prevailed at No. 1 singles for host Andrew (6-5, 4-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Marian Catholic 5, Notre Dame 0: Paul Lamb and Sam Roche garnered a victory at No. 1 doubles for host Marian Catholic (19-3, 5-1) in the East Suburban Catholic.

Illiana Christian 5, Riverside-Brookfield 0: Drew Smits and Garret Lytle (No. 2 doubles) were among the winners for host Illiana Christian (6-3) in the Metro Suburban.

Lemont 5, T.F. South co-op 0: Nick Urban (No. 1) and Faraz Long (No. 2) won their respective singles matches for visiting Lemont (9-2, 1-0) in the South Suburban Blue.

Boys Water Polo

Homewood-Flossmoor 19, Lincoln-Way Central 7: Marcus Perry had six goals to steer visiting Homewood-Flossmoor in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Girls Water Polo

Lincoln-Way East 7, Homewood-Flossmoor 5: Zoe Spada (3 goals) and Jill Connolly (12 saves) led visiting Lincoln-Way East in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Megan Dunlay had a hat trick for Homewood-Flossmoor.

Richards co-op 10, Argo 1: Misty Gardner had a match-high five goals for host Richards co-op.

Girls Lacrosse

Marian Catholic 11, Stevenson 8 (OT): Celeste Friel put in four goals and Corina Gonzalez made 12 saves to pace visiting Marian Catholic (9-5).

College Baseball

South Suburban 16, Joliet Junior College 6: Jake Hickey (4-for-5, 2 runs) clubbed a three-run double and finished with six RBI to spark host South Suburban (27-16). Steve Letz (3-for-4, 4 runs) added a solo homer and four RBI for the Bulldogs in the eight-inning game. Matt Filkins (2-for-4) had two RBI for Joliet Junior College (32-16).
