Baseball

Richards 12, Lincoln-Way East 3: Nate Natividad (2-for-2, 2 runs) blasted a two-run double and a solo homer to guide host Richards (17-4). Mike Marchione (solo HR) and Eric Mallo (2-for-4) added two runs each for the Bulldogs in support of Angelo Smith, who yielded five hits in pitching a complete game. Brandon Skopick had an RBI double for Lincoln-Way East (8-11).

Lemont 12, Oak Lawn 0: Jake Terrazas (2-for-3, 3 RBI) hit a two-run single and Jake Latz added a two-run double to steer host Lemont (19-1, 11-0) in the five-inning game. Garrett Acton tossed a five-hitter for the Indians in the South Suburban crossover. Kevin Zurek went 2-for-2 in leading Oak Lawn (8-15, 7-4).

St. Laurence 11, Glenbard South 3: Mike Miller’s two-run single capped a three-run first inning for host St. Laurence (20-2). Roger Wilson (2-for-3, 2 runs) added a pair of RBI singles for Vikings, whose output included two runs each from Brad Wood (2-for-2) and Sean Burnette (2-for-4).

Argo 12, Hillcrest 2: Marco Cervantes homered and Dustin Krob (2-for-3) had two RBI to spark host Argo (5-11, 3-8) in the South Suburban crossover.

T.F. South 2, Oak Forest 1: James Macklin’s seventh-inning RBI made the difference for host T.F. South (13-6, 7-3) in the South Suburban Blue.

Sandburg 4, Joliet Central 0: Matthias Dietz (5-1) tossed a three-hitter and struck out 10 to lead host Sandburg (15-4, 7-0) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Chris Stearns (2-for-2) smacked an RBI single for the Eagles and Jim Roche added two runs.

Softball

Lincoln-Way West 10, Andrew 0: Morghan Dieringer fired a one-hitter and struck out 12 to vault host Lincoln-Way West (20-1, 6-0) in the six-inning game. Anna Ryan (2-for-3, 5 RBI) clubbed a three-run homer and Dani Morgan (3-for-3, 3 runs, 2 RBI) added a solo shot for the Warriors in SouthWest Suburban Red. Kayla Plastiak had a double for Andrew (14-5, 5-2).

Lockport 11, Wheaton North 1: Gabby Voulgaris (1-for-3, 2 runs) hit a two-run single and finished with three RBI to power host Lockport (13-5-1) in the five-inning game. Kelly Pattison and Jordan Arndt added two runs apiece for the Porters in backing Grace Lancman, who scattered three hits in going the route.

Sandburg 8, Joliet West 7: Cierra Adamus’ two-run single in the sixth inning capped a seven-run rally for host Sandburg (12-9, 5-2) in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Argo 8, Reavis 7: Megan Richardson (2-for-3) knocked in the winning run for visiting Argo (4-12, 4-7) in the South Suburban Red. Samantha Stahl gave up six hits in hurling a complete game for the Argonauts. Hope Stepuncik went 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI for Reavis (10-11, 7-7).

Girls Soccer

Bloom 8, Kankakee 0: Jasmin Villanueva had four goals and two assists for host Bloom (9-1, 6-0) in the Southland. Andi Hernandez chipped in two goals and an assist for the Blazing Trojans.

Reavis 2, Oak Forest 0: Makayla Spielman registered her eighth shutout for host Reavis (12-6, 8-2), which received goals from Karina Lopez and Ewelina Kmin in the South Suburban crossover. Oak Forest slipped to 8-10, 5-4.

Crete-Monee 5, Rich South 1: Adrianna Vera netted four goals to pace visiting Crete-Monee (6-7, 4-1) in the Southland.

Lemont 3, Richards 0: Kim Jerantowski, Aleksandra Mihailovic and Lauren Lumsden scored for visiting Lemont (10-0-2, 8-0) in the South Suburban crossover.

Lincoln-Way West 7, Thornwood co-op 0: Audrey Parsons set a school record with her 12th shutout for host Lincoln-Way West (13-3-1, 2-2). Natalie Tannura put in two goals for the Warriors and Brianna Darlage chipped in two assists.

Oak Lawn 2, Argo 1: Marlene Martinez’s free kick lifted host Oak Lawn (3-14-1, 2-8) in the South Suburban Red. Megan Pacetti scored in regulation for the Spartans, while Alicja Walkosz had the goal for Argo.

Boys Volleyball

Marist 26-25, Marian Catholic 24-15: Tim Hauser dished out 17 assists and Tom Inzinga had seven kills to key host Marist (10-8, 2-1) in the East Suburban Catholic. Liam Fagan posted 10 digs for Marian Catholic (6-14, 0-3).

Boys Water Polo

Sandburg 11, Stagg 9: Mitch Zeiler had six goals and Mitch Winkelmann added four assists to lift host Sandburg in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Lockport 14, Lincoln-Way East 8: Matt Olinski’s six goals led host Lockport in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Girls Water Polo

Andrew 11, Lincoln-Way North 6: Genny McCarthy and Megan Hofer scored four goals each to boost visiting Andrew in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Lincoln-Way Central 12, Lincoln-Way West 3: Kristi Howe scored four times and Liz Klock added a hat trick to propel visiting Lincoln-Way Central in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Lincoln-Way East 15, Lockport 2: Haley McCabe recorded five goals and Aimee Schaaf scored four times to carry host Lincoln-Way East in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Girls Lacrosse

Nazareth 13, Eagles co-op 9: Grainne Kelly’s four goals led visiting Eagles co-op (1-8).

Girls Track & Field

Reavis Relays: Mother McAuley (77) won five events — including the 400-meter relay (51 seconds), 2-mile relay (10 minutes, 39 seconds) and distance medley relay (14:43) — in capturing the team championship ahead of runner-up Romeoville (59). Reavis (47), which finished third, was tops in the shot put relay (104 feet, 11½ inches) and discus relay (293-9). Fourth-place Thornridge (42) also won twice, in the 300-meter hurdles relay (58.5) and 800 relay (1:53). Oak Lawn (42) was fifth and Argo (39) sixth among the 11 squads.

College Baseball

South Suburban 16, Waubonsee 10: Stefano Belmonte (3-for-5, 2 runs) doubled twice and knocked in four runs to pace visiting South Suburban (28-16). Steve Letz, Dom Albanese and Josh Pieper tacked on two runs and two RBI apiece for the Bulldogs in the nine-inning game.

Joliet Junior College 4-5, Lake County 2-1: Matt Filkins stroked a two-run single and Kevin Ruff (6 strikeouts) pitched a complete game to give host Joliet Junior College (35-16) a sweep. Nick Fleischauer’s tiebreaking two-run single in the bottom of the fifth lifted the Wolves in the opener. Josh Jimenez allowed one earned run on six hits in going the route for the winners.

St. Francis 13-11, Cardinal Stritch 0-4: David Kuhne hit a grand slam in Game 1 and finished the day 5-for-10 with four runs and four RBI as host St. Francis (34-18, 22-5) captured the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference title. Adam Panayotovich (8-3) tossed a three-hitter and fanned six for the Saints in the opener. Joe Ruge was among standouts offensively in the finale, going 2-for-5 with a run and three RBI. Jake Butler (8-2) earned his school-record 31st career victory after giving up four runs through six innings.
