Baseball

Ag. Science 17, Kelly 4: Mike Cullen’s two-run homer elevated host Ag. Science (22-4, 13-2) in the five-inning contest. Mike Cassidy gave up two earned runs in tossing a complete game for the Cyclones in the Public League Sammie Sosa.

Romeoville 13, Shepard 6: Brendan Hermann (1-for-3, 3 RBI) hit a two-run single and Bob Peterka (3-for-4, run) added a two-run double to boost visiting Shepard (9-13). Kevin Knoerzer tacked on two hits and two runs for the Astros.

Homewood-Flossmoor 12, Marian Catholic 6: Jesse Forestell (3-for-4, 4 RBI) hit a three-run homer and Kendall King (2-for-5, 2 runs) belted a two-run shot for visiting Homewood-Flossmoor (16-5). James Sheehan (2-for-4) and Cole Tronsen chipped in two-run doubles for the Vikings. Kellen Williams (2-for-3, 2 runs) contributed a two-run single for Marian Catholic (13-12).

Montini 6, De La Salle 5: Jalen Davis (1-for-3, 2 RBI) hit a leadoff homer and Robert Zebrauskas added a two-run single to pace visiting De La Salle (16-8).

Lincoln-Way North 8, Lincoln-Way East 5: Conor Grove’s grand slam with one out in the bottom of the seventh capped a seven-run spree for Lincoln-Way North (17-2) in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Nick Garcia’s RBI single and D.J. Lee’s bases-loaded walk preceded Grove’s heroics. Kenichi Haynie (2-for-4) recorded an RBI single and a run-scoring double for Lincoln-Way East (12-13). Evan Sandmann collected two runs for the Griffins.

Edwardsville Tournament

Edwardsville 3, Lockport 0: Jeremy Quade went 2-for-3 to lead Lockport (12-13) in the six-inning contest. Cole Bellair allowed two earned runs in going the distance for the Porters.

Softball

Mother McAuley 5, Lincoln-Way East: Briana Gyrion’s two-run double in the top of the third capped a five-run outburst for visiting Mother McAuley (16-5). Maryssa Vela (2-for-4) tacked on two runs and an RBI for the Mighty Macs. Nikole Van Gennep (2-for-3) belted a two-run homer and a solo shot to pace Lincoln-Way East (16-7).

Lincoln-Way Central 17, Thornridge 0: Brittany Schultz (2-for-4, 3 runs) hit a two-run homer and finished with four RBI to power host Lincoln-Way Central (14-10, 7-3) in the five-inning contest. Alyssa Klahn aided the cause for the Knights with a three-run triple in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Lemont 17, Eisenhower 0: Rylie Jay (3-for-3, 3 runs) blasted two homers — including a grand slam — and finished with nine RBI to steer host Lemont (16-7, 10-3) in the South Suburban crossover. Jessica Spinelli pitched a one-hitter for the Indians in the five-inning tilt.

Plainfield South 13, Providence 0: Jessica Cothern, Morgan Greenwood, Sarah Brightmore and Lauren Sulkowski recorded one hit apiece for host Providence (13-10) in the six-inning game.

Lockport 9, Naperville Central 0: Ally Howard stroked a two-run double and Kelly Pattison (2-for-5, 2 runs) hit a solo homer to key visiting Lockport (20-5-1). Gabby Voulgaris (3-for-4) also starred for the Porters, putting in two runs and two RBI. Justine Cielenski surrendered eight hits in going the route for the winners.

Richards 11, Riverside-Brookfield 0: Sara Tobin hit a grand slam and Sara Kiziak (12-3) hurled a three-hitter to carry host Richards (16-5) in the five-inning game.

Oak Forest 10, Lincoln-Way North 6: Taylor Sterkowitz (2-for-3) had two homers and five RBI to key visiting Oak Forest (18-6). Kylie Powers (2-for-4) supplemented the attack for the Bengals with two runs and two RBI. Jenna Trojniar posted a two-run double for Lincoln-Way North (13-7).

Bishop McNamara 10-6, Joliet Catholic 8-2: Reilly Jo Swanson (3-for-4) scored three runs and Kayla Bennett (1-for-4) added three RBI to pace visiting Joliet Catholic (8-16, 2-10) in Game 1 of the East Suburban Catholic doubleheader. Brenna Garland ripped an RBI single for Angels in the nightcap and Alyssa Callans (2-for-4) scored twice.

Girls Soccer

Oak Forest 1, Romeoville 0: Jenna Brown set up Alyssa Gilman for the goal that sparked visiting Oak Forest (10-12). Abby Anderson posted the shutout.

Boys Water Polo

Andrew 11, Bradley 7: Andrew Wojdyla and Eric Tamulonis netted five goals apiece to lift visiting Andrew in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Lincoln-Way North 7, Lincoln-Way West 5: Shamus Shields made 22 saves for visiting Lincoln-Way North in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Stagg 14, Lincoln-Way East 8: Connor Kaufmann scored three first-half goals to propel host Stagg in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Girls Water Polo

Homewood-Flossmoor 10, Lockport 4: Amber Barney scored four goals and Megan Dunlavy added a hat trick to boost visiting Homewood-Flossmoor. Maria Dickson had two goals for Lockport in the SouthWest Suburban Blue.

Andrew 12, Bradley 6: Megan Hofer’s five goals were instrumental for host Andrew in the SouthWest Suburban Red.

Girls Lacrosse

Marian Catholic 15, Carmel 6: Celeste Friel and Carla Bennett each scored five goals and Corina Gonzalez made 16 saves to lift visiting Marian Catholic (11-6, 6-0) in the East Suburban Catholic.

College Baseball

NJCAA Region IV Semifinal

South Suburban 6, Triton 4: Steve Letz (3-for-5, 3 RBI) hit a two-run double and Dom Albanese (3 runs) added an RBI single to vault South Suburban (34-18) at Kishwaukee. Ben Santori surrendered two earned runs over eight innings in notching the victory.
