Although the IHSA had not made it official as of early Sunday night, it appears the area will send five athletes to the state meet on Friday at Hinsdale Central.
At the Wheaton-Warrenville South Sectional on Wednesday, Lincoln-Way co-op freshman Kaleb Hong qualified in the still rings with a third-place finish of 8.65 and junior teammate Tyler Greenberg was fifth with an 8.25.
District 230 co-op junior Omar Ashour qualified on the vault with a fifth-place finish of 8.900.
It looks like Hong also will qualify at-large in all-around and horizontal bar. Greenberg likely is going to make it in the vault. Ashour appears to have qualified on the still rings.
Senior Anthony Balsamo, of Lincoln-Way, should make it on the pommel horse, and senior Jimmy Maines could make it in the floor exercise.
The official announcement and seedings are expected to be made Monday morning.
